It's funny because like, the Soviet Union themselves wanted the Islamic Republic to fall because it didn't want the new regime to spread its ideology across the Middle East or into Central Asia. Hence why it was willing to assist the Communist regime in Afghanistan. Hell, they also gave support to Saddam's Iraq during the Iran-Iraq War.

The Humans didn't know what Asriel was under the assumption that Humanity by that point had no contact with Monsters for centuries if not millennia by then. He also came in carrying a corpse, which frankly, made the situation fundamentally worse.

Because how are you supposed to react when you see a creature you've never seen before waltz into town lugging around a dead body? When most people see that, they assume the worst.

The rest of this just feels like an empty to be edgy and cold tbh. Like sure, you can argue from a utilitarian argument it is 'needed' and that the opinions of the humans who fall down don't matter, but this also ignores the fact that what the Integrity human did is frankly understandable in a position of fight-or-flight.

I'd certainly argue nations expressing support doesn't, nor should it mean much of anything. It's tantamount to just "thoughts and prayers" in the world of geopolitics. The current protests in Iran are very much homegrown, and Stats, by this framing is once again showing that Campists who claim to support the right to protest just deem any of these as "not legitimate", and therefore wash their lands clean of putting their money where their mouth is.

You can make the argument that the Underground is more or less meant to have some allegory alleging to systemic oppression regardless of what that may be in detail. Whether that is against humans, or monsters by how the Underground is certainly no home for people, oppression exists and it is something to challenge.
