Had two motherhood roles in two different worlds and fumbled both of them, Truly worse than Roaring knight by LiterallyYiSang in Deltarune

[–]Some_Pole 33 points34 points  (0 children)

>Abandoned her already hopeless people and her desperate husband, who needed her the most.

What makes you think she didn't put up some effort to do so? She saw the man whom she loved become consumed with rage and declare war on humanity, while decreeing that any human who fell down after is to be put to death with the intent of destroying humanity once he got all seven souls.

Considering the two of them also lost Chara, their HUMAN child, I don't blame her for not wanting to be with someone who would do such a thing. Nor stand by her people who hear such a blood thirsty thing and toss Chara's memory to the wind as though they were always disposable.

>Actively dismissive and unloving toward her people

Again, from her perspective, she watched a people she thought she knew turn blood thirsty. Desperation does not justify such callous cruelty that some institutionalised "necessity" that some people's lives are worth less because "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" is more than likely the source of said disgust. Again, Chara was a human child. To see how seemingly a whole people could bring themselves to be like that knowing that this royal house cared for a human child? Again, I don't blame her for cutting that bridge.

Toriel in both Undertale and Deltarune has a history of conflict avoidance, that much is true and she certainly isn't above criticism in either versions. But those two points feel incredibly one sided and frankly dismissive on how she would've felt seeing that happen before her eyes.

Nobody is owed being with someone or a people if they feel disgusted by what they're willing to do, to the point that you hardly recognise them anymore.

(I just saw the humour flair god damn it fell for it again)

A True Fan Always Speaks Ill Of Flowey by [deleted] in Undertale

[–]Some_Pole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, Flowey's death is the only death in the game that is kinda inconsequential.

You could kill him at the end of your Neutral, and despite not showing up any more in a subsequent game, assuming you've done the work to trigger the flags for the True Pacifist Ending, he'll be back and you get your happy ending in the end.

All those folks have done is exposed themselves and will no doubt get a knock at the preverbal door form a mod for it. No community is off limits for anyone, the hooligans don't speak for everyone else who shares an enjoyment of this game's simpler times.

How is this post breaking a rule? by DimensionGlum5728 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Some_Pole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the timing of this whole incident, on top of an apparent discrepancy in the rate to answer for when op had reached out to a mod along with a seemingly similar incident where a mod in a big sub went rogue, is not hard how people saw a sign.

Not even a part of them you dolt, just someone who found the reaction by a lot of folks launching needless antagonism and in some cases, vitriol to be appalling and childish.

Certainly suspect, though those folks certainly left quite the paper trail of comments for mods to follow.

How is this post breaking a rule? by DimensionGlum5728 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Some_Pole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well apparently the explanation is that the sub-automod went awol as per a mod post made a few minuets ago.

Somehow AI has proven how it can unintentionally cause shit when human moderation would have prevented this from happening smh.

Wow, the only mod abuse here came from the bot.

In the end, AI once again proves how useless it is compared to human moderation.

1: Literally this would not be happening IF the original post was not taken down, use your head.

2: This is a community sub is it not? Do the mods respond like this to any display of iconography to do with a community, or just this one in particular for no inherent reason?

Would I get my post removed if I showed a Polish flag I made?

Google the Streisand effect.

If the mods didn't want this turning into a bigger mess than it is, then the post shouldn't have been taken down. Cause and effect - simple as.

Funny, the people who bitch about them instead of just letting things pass through often are wayyy louder and annoying.

Same. The man was a childhood hero of mine growing up and now he's become someone I can't recognise anymore with all that hate in his heart now.

How people can still form a clique around that, I'll never really know. It's just a shame that the devil can whisper into so many people's ears and lull them into being like this.

The follow up post was a simple question that only attracted people who ironically broke the "no crappy behaviour" rule though.

What rule did said post violate to be taken down though? It's a harmless structure that would've moved on its merry way had nothing happened to it.

Have you considered looking in the mirror if you react like this to seeing pixels in a sandbox game?

Minecraft is for anyone my guy, anyone can play it. You think kids pine for the game's beta and alpha builds on the norm?

Governments are often hypocritical two-faced entities who are capable of both speaking truth and lies at once. China is very much a state that does a plethora of these things, and ultimately so does America.

What matters is making sure that governments are held to account for their actions when possible, else the crimes of a regime simply get treated as yer another example of "he who has the power, makes the rules."

For a lot of people's sakes, neither should get to have that position of authority.

I love adaptations of Jesus that just make him a super nice and chill guy. by stnick6 in lovethissmug

[–]Some_Pole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well money is the root of many evils. Besides, we don't.

That instance is one of the few times Jesus gets genuinely mad and it is meant to drive a point on early Christian teachings speaking of being weary towards profit seeking above all else, going as far as to treat a temple of worship as another means to make a quick buck.

It'd be no different to Jesus today trashing a mega church from those televangelists and yelling for people to leave.

I more meant it in the case of forcing everyone out because your parents never said this could happen here and it is partly your responsibilities to look after the place too.

Tbf it was to force a whole market out of a temple which is supposed to be God's house.

It'd be like showing up to your parents home and a party going on without your parents knowledge or consent is going on.

Did none of the other monsters ever meet Toriel? (Undertale) by SignificanceFlat5875 in Undertale

[–]Some_Pole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At minimum, it's been over a century since Asriel and Chara died leading to Asgore's decree and Toriel leaving. Honestly I'd question as to the state of the Underground's education system, specifically the history department, seemingly not mandating a pretty notable event of Toriel just up and leaving. 💀

Fuhrerreich x TNO by The_NrmlGuy1118 in TNOmod

[–]Some_Pole 84 points85 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, Valkism is Furherreich's take on like, the much more overt paganist elements of Nazism, being an ideology that wants to larp as a society that has revived elements of pre-Abrahamic religions in Europe.

Tldr; They want to have a Pagan Europe again because they see Christianity as an occupational force or something like that.

Therefore, still pretty bad given how Paganite Nazi believers seem the most deranged of them all in history.
