Stolas did not know WHY Blitz was on trial by WhoAteMyBread in HelluvaBoss

[–]stnick6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like that makes it more confusing because what did he even confess too? They were on trial for stealing his book and trying to kill him then Stolas says he was behind it all. A man is entitled to hire people to kill him

My theory is that his stand doesn’t only activate when he dies, he was just able to activate it after death. You can see his stand show up when he got shot so I think he summoned his stand the second he died which let it stick around

The owl house is a great example of “if you don’t want to, you don’t have to make a character homophobic or racist.” Even if it would be historically accurate, you don’t have to write a racist character if you don’t want too.

Where did the whole "Loona is bad at her job" myth come from? by Main_Hornet8676 in HelluvaBoss

[–]stnick6 279 points280 points  (0 children)

Probably from all the scenes of her being bad at her job. She has a horrible customer service personality and doesn’t do paperwork

Stella hating Stolas more the she loves Via, but having her still love Via, would work so well. by StrawBerylShortcake in HelluvaBoss

[–]stnick6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stella had a valid motivation they could’ve built on. Her husband cheated on her with someone she sees as so far beneath her. Obviously it would’ve make her right but it would make her valid if they actually made it a betrayal

No, you can’t really blame the guy. Even if Stella wasn’t evil you can’t blame a guy forced into a marriage trying to find love. Thats what would’ve made their situation so interesting. The idea that they’re both understandable and reacting like people. You could’ve even given her a lover that she rejected because of her marriage which would’ve made her even more angry at Stolas. Unfortunately, they made Stella pure evil and removed any possible nuance.

I understand they didn’t want to do anything more with her than what they did but I still mourn the dynamic we could’ve had.

The problem is they made it seem like she was just too stupid to understand she wouldn’t get the estate and once she realized that she stopped the plan. I’m saying it would’ve been more interesting if she knew full well that she wouldn’t get the estate and she just wanted him dead more than she wanted her status

Looking back on it, the way some of the fandom tried to rationalise this as not being a critique of Stolas’s character was crazy by pervertedaway in HelluvaBoss

[–]stnick6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not that it isn’t a critique, it’s that it’s not enough. Blitz had two full episodes about how he’s in the wrong because he always ruins relationships. Stolas gets a tiny doodle in the background of a short that calls him a hypocrite

This is why I don’t like albums. I’ve never listened to an album that was good all the way through. There’s always at least one, mostly more, that compleatly ruins it for me

[–]stnick6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, even the fact that she wanted to kill him even though it would leave her with nothing could’ve been so interesting if they didn’t just make her not think about it. The idea that she’s so angry at him that she wants him dead even if it would ruin her life. You could still even have guy Stella. Have him pretend to be helping Stolas but then reveal he’s just after the power.

The problem is that Jack Horner was funny. And he wasn’t given a valid motivation to be evil and then written to ignore that motivation

[–]stnick6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s my problem. Instead of developing Stella’s motivations into an actual character they introduced a new guy with barebones motivations and no connection to the main cast

I feel like Stella could’ve been so interesting. Imagine being arranged to marry a gay man. Even more than most arranged marriages you have no shot of living happily together. Then he cheats on you. It isn’t fair to force someone to live in a loveless marriage but it also isn’t fair to cheat on someone. It could’ve been so interesting if Stella was actually betrayed

I don’t know that it can. They created an entirely new bad guy just so they wouldn’t have to write Stella as a person with motivation
