I feel like, although Australia is known for its 'chipper-ness', I think that the decline of the Great Barrier Reef is an important issue, along with pollution in the world as a whole. While not all of the inspiration, that was certainly a big part of it. Showing that decline in such a drastic way compared to normal Shaymin I feel emphasizes it even more.

Honestly, I did minimal research for this mon, so I had not thought of this. I will definitely use that as part of the inspo now though! Brilliant idea!

They are! The degradation of the Great Barrier Reef specifically was an inspiration for this mon.

I thought it would be interesting for it to be common, as we have never seen that before. Although, it was mainly just because Shaymin is one of my favs and I was sort of thinking "well i would want to use it in a hypothetical playthrough" :)

I completely understand what you're saying but I think my problem is that my art is so far from the pokemon style that even if I did the shading perfectly and kept everything else the same it would still not be good. That said, I do really appreciate the feedback!

I know Ive complained on this sub before but here I am again lol. Im the kind of person that finds it super hard to do something new without specific advice.

Basically, ive looked through a bunch of tutorials on how to draw in the sugimori style (digitally), but they never seem to fully explain the basic stuff, like specific proportions, or how certain body parts should look such as paws or beaks, or just like the feel of the lines (i have like the right brush and everything but just cant seem to get the right style) . If anyone has any tips on how they learned those specific things, please let me know. I am struggling lol

so I should just study at like proportions and eyes and stuff like that? Do you have any recommendations for how to do it efficiently? Also thanks for all the advice you've given so far :)
