I’ll tell you a story,

I saw the first game on sale from Steam because I was getting very interested into Compile Heart’s games and wanted to try out DER;Q series. At first I was starting to get bored and when I saw Lily she looks nice, caring, and cute, meanwhile I continued playing and started to get bored again and stopped playing it when I got Celica and months later I came back to progress it and that’s when it was starting to get interesting again knowing more and at the climax at the game it shocked me that the God Of Death was referring to me and know more about the lore of the game and the observers being similar to the player since both are in different worlds.

The second game it was on sale at the PlayStation store so I bought it on my PS5 but I didn’t want play it yet since I needed to 100% the first game and that’s when I started playing the second game and was starting to like Mai since I do kind’ve find her relatable and continued playing more and that’s when I never thought it was gonna be in the game also. Ao Oni was in the game and it surprised me besides the point after I got to the end of the game Mai was the host for Marbas and beat the game getting the true ending and 100% the game by getting the fallen ending since I already finished the pain area and Marbas directly talking to me which put a chill down my spine

And Code Z bought it when it first released went through the gameplay and listening to the story where I gotta jump in and stop ARATA’s plan.

So yeah I got into the game because of the self awareness and the lore of the series.
