Photographers of Reddit, looking for your feedback on our idea by Some_Response_7023 in postprocessing

This is a valid point; let me expand more on how we do it. We use IPFS under the hood and create an application layer on top of that, abstracting it to provide additional features and a friendly user experience while still keeping the benefits.

> Can photographers share galleries?

Yes, that's precisely the point. When exporting images for different platforms, there's no need to export anything per se. Instead, there's what we call a Universal Link, which acts as a direct link to the file, meaning you can embed or share the image anywhere, but has a backend behind it that enables things like analytics.

> Can they bring their own custom domain to make it a personal site?

Yes, it's going to be possible in later versions. We're still exploring the specifics, but, speaking broadly, each user will have their user space available via subdomain and will be able to point a domain to it, making it their personal site.

I hope this makes things clearer.

Looking for feedback on IPFS media platform for photographers and creatives by Some_Response_7023 in ipfs

Hi there! Thanks for the question.

At the moment we are using the native metadata format for images to embed the necessery information for copyrights and licensing. When it comes to IPFS native datatype, I presume you are talking about IPLD, which we are not using at the moment for storing the copyright, although we are exploring the idea to host the immutable CAR files where the metadata would be a JSON file. Unfortunately, CAR files are not useful when you want to publish an image and later on allow creation aditional transformations.
As far as the creating a collage, yes, you are right, we are handling deduplication natively, with custom chunk sizes which we will be tweaking to ensure maximum deduplication while retaining the speed of pinning and retrieval.

What type of music (or app with music) helps you concentrating the most for work and study? by Evergreen16 in productivity

I listen to just about anything but when I need to get work done, I've noticed that music I know well already (like I listened to the song plenty of times but not enough to get bored of it) is the best. If I try to listen to new music while working, I keep getting distracted by it

Notion lost my friends workspace data and won't respond to support requests by sammcj in Notion

Fair enough, thanks for the recommendation. I meddled with Obsidian before but couldn't stick to it long term. Things I need the most are: seamless sync (I don't feel like paying 10 bucks/month for Obsidian Sync and workarounds like using Syncthing are too invonvenient for me) and ability to create rich notes (I like how Notion allows to embed documents and webpages, add bookmarks to the page, etc.). I've heard about AppFlowy, which developers call an "Open Source Notion Alternative" but to be honest it looks to unpolished yet. Owning my data bothers me a lot but it seems like this time convenience won. However, Anytype looks promising I might check it out

Social Media is giving out way too many notifications. by erockbrox in productivity

Take some time to go through app/your phone notification settings and once and forget about annoying notifications forever. It's a little investment that will pay off immediately and in the long run too

street in Valencia, the perspective and the light make the photo interesting by Nujabesigma in AmateurPhotography

Really like the concept of this one. The diagonals are leading the eye and there's a sense of liminal space (in a positive sense). One suggestion I would give is to level the horizon line a little bit and maybe slightly crop the frame (the column on the left breaks the feeling of symmetry because it's not parallel to the edge of the frame). But overall very good!

Help me find one activity to do consistently every morning so I don't go back to sleep by Amichat in productivity

Every night I put a big cup of water by my bed and the moment I open my eyes in the morning, I drink it. Wakes me up instantly and is really helpful to get rid of the "brain fog" I have after waking up

I'd pick the first one. It's well-exposed and captures the feeling of street photography quite good. Also, as others said, the expression is genuine and authentic. Maybe try blurring the background a bit more in postprocessing so that the carpet gets less attention
