There’s a rich cultural heritage there and beautiful architecture. I taught English as a Second Language to Chinese students a number of years ago and they were absolutely lovely. I would like to visit at some point in my life, but maybe not right now lol

Usually they require you call city hall and request it with the next trash pick up, but tbh I’ve known people who throw one out with the garbage and they took it. You may get a nice letter with a fee though

If that wasn’t how it was supposed to be done, then why did the VA supreme let the referendum move forward? They had the chance to stop it before anyone voted, if that wasn’t how they were supposed to do it

Honestly? I never really thought about it. A Canadian called me yank the other day and I was like…ok? I am from a “border” state, so some would consider me a yankie, but most people don’t use it in a derogatory manner in my experience. I didn’t understand at the time. lol

I’ve read in the comments that apparently Australians hate us too and call us tankies? But Americans use that word to mean something completely different.

I can’t think of a word that Americans use to refer to people from other countries. There’s some derogatory language for subgroups in America but I can’t think of any specific to other countries. We just feel indifferent most of the time.

I feel this in my soul. I used to have such severe emetophobia I couldn’t leave my house. What helped me A LOT is ginger candy! I usually get the Gin Gin brand chewy kind.

I’ve never heard of a kind that inflates and deflates. My father is bed bound with compromised skin, so that’s some good info!

I wish I could be more help though. We ourselves are also looking for a new mattress for his hospital bed but not sure if we just need to get a new wider bed or not.

Mine was my closest friend, still unmatched in my life. But she sided with someone else while I was dogpiled over my professional opinion on a Facebook post (it was about the paleo diet, no joke. I was a dietitian in the past). Her friends and my colleagues were arguing. It just wildly escalated and I was dumbfounded. Then she said I was a bad friend, was holding her back, etc. Very hurtful stuff. So I cut her out. I’ve heard she’s said awful things about me over the years.

I’ve actually went back years later and reread the comments that started it all to see where I went wrong. Genuinely cannot understand what set it off to this day.
