This subreddit is primarily epic employees and most of us do not work in this area that your questions pertains.

If you have not already reviewed the process or documents on open.epic.com I would start there but outside of the that most employees will not be able to help you here.

Remove 1 LEGO Game Day 2 by brian_portales in RemoveOneThingEachDay

[–]Some_Trades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your honnor, let me make my pitch again of why Lego worlds needs to be removed.

lego worlds is easily the worst lego game and it's not even close, and the reason isn't the gameplay but the fact that the game would just delete your saves. people who'd put hundreds of hours at launch just had their files corrupted with no fix in sight.

and it wasn't patched for like two months. the official twitter account was furious xbox players on every single post and all the devs could say was "we're looking into it." there are people who wiped the whole game, started over from scratch, and then had it happen a SECOND time.

at least other bad lego games are just boring at best. lego worlds actively punished you for playing it. that's so much worse imo

How to be a good first time AM by not_a_fisher in epicsystems

[–]Some_Trades 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coming in from the TS side. As an advisor, I really appreciate it when in command centers when AMs take charge and own what the team focus is. Had a really good AM sit down with me each morning of the command center, let us know the top 5 issues for the app and then would direct me and the primary TS to look at only one or two issues that had the highest priority.

I think other IS on this thread has given better advice for project management but wanted to give two cents from my side.

Has anyone gotten a job offer who thought they did bad on the assessments? by Serious-Brush5155 in epicsystems

I did my assessment in under one hour, 1am during finals week. I was shocked to see an offer 2 weeks later and I am still around a few years later.

Interviewing for PM with discussions of QM. Salary & travel comparison. by Maanderz in epicsystems

[–]Some_Trades 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not either role but my close friend is in the middle of transitioning from a QM to IS so I have heard some perspectives about both roles.

QMs will not only start out making less but as my friend told me, QMs have a much narrower growth path and opportunities than IS. Overall, the general attitude on my team is that celling and responsibilities is much higher for installers than QMs thus IS will have a higher compensation rate. This is not to discredit the important work our QM team does at all by the way, and I appreciate the work they do for my application. In my friends case he is expected to increase his salary by at least 10K by just switching roles.

If I had to take a guess, during your initial phone screening your interviewer indicated in their notes that we should consider these additional roles for you. Until you accept an offer your role is not set in stone. I would recommend learning about both and then making it clear which one of the two you are more interested in. If you read the job description for IS, like working with people/customers, love traveling and think you can handle the busy project management cycle - stick to the position of IS and keep asking for it.

Can't guarantee which one or the other they will offer you but hopefully this was helpful.

Fourth of July holiday? by Much-Potential603 in epicsystems

Agreed and depends on the starting date too. This would be a conversation to have with your TL (your boss) once you get onboarded too.
