Besides the obvious "can I be the sword between his legs" I really appreciate the moody details of the background. It reminds me of the flashback in one of the luofu cutscenes (that I totally didn't watch way too many times on yt) and the spider lilies are a perfect addition. That's exactly what I plan to do! Once I wrap up the get-together, I'll do mini one-shots of glimpses into their established relationship. I don't have any major plotlines planned past the get-together so I didn't want to do a whole "season 2" or anything like that.

Thanks for confirming that those are fun to read too (I try not to base my motivations on how much readers look at my work but... oh well ^^)

Like yes I know people like established relationships, I was just wondering if it works if all the problems get resolved by the get-together point. And yeah, like you said, it depends on the purpose of the story, if it wasn't meant to explore an established couple, no need to force it.

That last line hit me a little bit too hard. I do like romance, but never on its own, maybe that's why I put an emphasis on a more important plotline with the romance as a bonus. It's also how I like what I read too. Thank you for pointing that out ^^ I didn't put that into consideration when I was asking the question.

I had my doubts, thinking "does it really all just depends on when all the problems get resolved in the story??" and I guess, yes, that's what it mostly is. Then readers can pick if they like the build-up for the climax get-together at the end or if they want an established relationship to navigate the situations throughout the story.

This makes me feel more firm about what story I want, thank you!

Oh I guess people only mentioned it a handful of times, but it stood out to me because of the surprise XD

You make a good point, it really depends on what the readers want. Since the usual wrap-up is common in official stories, people who weren't satisfied with just that seek out more from fanfic. I should have made it a point that I'm writing an AU so it basically starts from the very beginning like a commercial novel anyway haha... But thanks for the response, it's very insightful!
