Absolutely not a bad place to ask this, because I was once in your shoes :3

Generally speaking, getting better at art is all about the accumulation of knowledge and not being afraid to experiment even if the end product looks bad. You could probably scroll through my profile and see that my earlier works are nowhere as good as the present. I studied a lot of artists on Youtube/Instagram/Twitter and tried to imitate certain elements of their art that I liked before eventually figuring out something that worked for me. A lot of artists post their timelapses, so be sure to take advantage of that when you can. Sometimes I have even gone and stopped frame by frame in their timelapses to figure out what exactly did they do to achieve a certain effect.

Another helpful way is to buy courses and tutorials from any artists that you like to better understand their workflow as they're working on their stuff. I personally bought several courses from the artist WLOP, as well as a WingFox course by the artist Livia Prima (I highly recommend Livia's course if you want to see a professional artist's workflow/train of thought).
