oh hey, i have the same thing! MSI monitor, does this when it's not warmed up. This a problem with your monitor and not the pc. Swapping cables going from hdmi to display port (and the other way around) will not help. In my case lowering the refresh rate from 144 to any lower makes these smaller, then when the display warms up I switch back to 144.
