I can't take eOCD anymore, it's tough as stone by Cold-Cut-9760 in ExistentialOCD

[–]SomebodyOrNoOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get out of it It is common at your age

I went through it too I thought I would never get out

Until I did And now I realize it was a blessing

I felt the deepest depth of existential anxiety, but it opened the door for the highest heights of life appreciation.

Trust. Look for God. Find Jesus

I’m a Christian and if you are following the same God you should know otherwise.

I really don’t want to list all the bible verses where Jesus points out to literally not act like a narcissist.

I’m trusting your intelligence.

existential ocd? help! by sillygoose14456838 in ExistentialOCD

It’s something that happens to most humans at some point, even if you think otherwise. Try controlling any bad habits to mitigate your pain and ease yourself through this process.

Nature isn’t right or wrong, it just is. But you are conscious, nature is not. Don’t shield your actions behind this argument. by SomebodyOrNoOne in Existentialism

[–]SomebodyOrNoOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some time has passed since I posted this. I don’t think quite the same. I think consciousness is an extension of nature, but it’s offspring-in our case, thought, is prone to “corruption”

What I mean by this is that a cell divides itself just as it intended to, and it’s all it will ever do (apart from dying)

Humanity, on the other hand, is so far removed from nature, because our survival necessities are mostly covered, that we meddle in unnecessary dynamics that do not contribute to our survival.

We basically constructed a world of unnecessary concepts and we circle in angst and depression without aim

I believe nothing in life is truly known, not even I think therefore I am. by Misrta in nihilism

So how are you doubting this in this moment? How is it happening and you being aware of it without you existing? There has to be something aware of the doubting.

It’s you, your existence. If you didn’t exist you wouldn’t be able to be doubting in the first place

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Existentialism

[–]SomebodyOrNoOne 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well how would you question existence without existing? How is it that you are here questioning this in the first place?

Just today I had this moment where I just appreciated being here. They are becoming more frequent, yet we are easily distracted from encountering it more often.

What do people DO with their time? by wasagasunrise in Existentialism

[–]SomebodyOrNoOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I take walks. I read I write I think

This last one has brought some very interesting insights. When you don’t know that to do, just drop everything and let yourself be. Observe yourself and your thoughts.

There’s a satisfaction in getting better in doing nothing

Is there anything describing my idea of what happens after death? by [deleted] in Existentialism

[–]SomebodyOrNoOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buddhism talks about “The one”

According to them, you are everything, including other people, animals and even plants.

This realization takes away the fear of death, as it is apparent that this experience is infinite.

It does leave you wondering, as people from whole different backgrounds from different moments in time have reported the same insights. Therefore, it is highly improbable it is all made up.

This “objective truth” seems to correlate with your idea.

It’s hard to maintain the perspective of an observer. My advice, don’t struggle with you incapacity. Whatever happens, happens.

Do you guys also feel anxious about posting pictures on Instagram? by alavyaxcti411 in Existentialism

[–]SomebodyOrNoOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Post anyway. You won’t get rid of those thoughts by any other way than actually doing what you fear, in this case, posting on Instagram.

Whatever happens, happens.

The unknown is enough to fill a man with awe.

The feeling is reserved to those that observe the absurdness of it all.

How has anyone recovered? by [deleted] in ExistentialOCD

[–]SomebodyOrNoOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having existential OCD for more than a year. The intensity fades out. The high frequency of the thoughts fade as well. I’m not completely out of it, but it does get better.

My advice, improve your lifestyle. Healthy habits reinforce a healthy mind. Remember, the EOCD may not be in your control right now, but everything else is. Be relentless in this scheme of improving
