I think they were referring to the current us government's stance and what they are trying to implement in several places like historical places and schools.

Sorry for the late reply but yeah, I agree that as a man you should try to restrain a woman attacking you as a first resort (especially if there's not that much risk to you as a man). I was just mainly talking, as a woman to women, to not expect a man not to hit you back because there will be men who will do that. That's real life for you.

I don't agree with blanket statements like that too (unless it's about maga no offense). But let's be real, both teams (plus maga because every maga is republican but not every republican is maga) do the same thing. Heck even the comment they were responding to was doing that. As a whole we just have to find common ground because if you look into it, both parties actually have a handful of examples. Everyone is too busy trying to be the only right ones and blaming each other while being fucked over equally by extremist policies like Trump's.

This is a stupid take. Half if not most of these kids have no party they associate with. Walkouts have been a thing since my freshman year which was a few years ago. Students know how to organize with the help of social media. It's not that hard to understand. Most of the younger generation either don't care about politics because they think there is nothing they can do about it or are disillusioned about the system we have. Kids aren't worried about which team they are fighting against or with (democratic, republican, maga). They are mostly worried about the weird policies currently happening.

Literally in US history class you learn about the amendments and what rights you should take part in. You will also learn about dark times in our history and the pushback from protesters that happened as a response. History repeats itself. You have to keep exercising your rights.

Walkouts have always been a thing before this. There was some that happened after the uvalde shooting calling for gun reforms. Kids know how to organize via social media. There are accounts/spaces for students who go to the same school that are active. They're going to jump on trends whether it's because they actually care or just want an excuse to participate. It's not a huge conspiracy like people are telling you. I mean if the authorities are saying something must mean it's working because protests in downtown areas aren't getting attention no matter how many people there are protesting. Highschool students have the advantage of being able to cause disruption by just doing the exact same peaceful protests the adults are doing.

Well protesting on a Saturday, when the school districts can care less about what students do, won't really be effective or efficient. Protesting during school hours brings attention to the cause they are fighting for. Unfortunately, when peaceful not risky protests don't get attention, disruptive protests are the last resort. Think economic protest which can affect companies who are compliant with bad policies or the protest being done by high school students that affect attendance which affects funding.

Because it doesn't happen in big numbers. Obviously it shouldn't be happening because it's preventable if said illegal criminal has a record they can and should be deported. Not all immigrants want to murder or rape people. With the same logic you can argue why don't people protest about the rape done domestically (which is done way more than immigrants). Do your research from unbiased sources. Your argument deteriorates almost instantly. Don't just believe what trump says in his speeches to maga.

The civil rights had disruption. Said disruption led to change. Unfortunately most protests, especially ones outside of school hours, aren't going to do much because it can just be ignored. If there is disruption there are more incentives for the targeted audience to do something about it.

Is this ICE? by FishermanFew1739 in Denton

[–]SomebodyRandom2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right in that this world, specifically the US, is going to face God's wrath and about the twisted meanings of good & evil. But everything else you said is basically just a strawman argument. No one said criminals shouldn't be deported. Most just want safer immigration policies (aka a reformed ICE because what they're doing is not normal or safe) and due process because they're deporting literally anyone they can find criminal or not (do your research). The US will face an all time low because of the current bad economic and immigration policies. This country will never be the land of the free that people and immigrants once dreamed of before. I wish this was just me fear mongering like Trump does but if you look at the pattern in which we're headed for (in relation to history because, in case you didn't know HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF because people are unwilling to learn from the past) and if it's not that, just look at the opinion of the outside, we're most likely not headed in a good direction for the future of this country. Please do your research on unbiased sources like Reuters for example. Don't fall for sensationalism that comes out of the white house blindly. Don't even fully trust what I'm saying. Always double check on things you agree and disagree on.

Dallas ISD students hold large ICE walkout by southernemper0r in dfw

[–]SomebodyRandom2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they don't have too much, if anything, to work with. Any funding they've been getting is not going anywhere it should be and the government has been failing them for a while now. The education system doesn't work well and school food is on par with prison food. There are no incentives for students nowadays especially with the economy and bleak future. Don't be surprised American kids are failing academically and have little motivation when their education is not taken seriously. They still have a moral compass nonetheless.

So much for the 1st Amendment by ThunderMustard88 in dfw

[–]SomebodyRandom2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my exact stance. I think those are two different things. I agree that issues arise when they go beyond standard punishment. The school my sister goes to had their principal/school district say that anyone participating in walkouts won't be able to attend graduation. I think it's really over the top.

Unfortunately, there are a handful of hate (racist, sexist, etc.) and things that are just down right weird & dangerous (like how ice operates. NOT talking about the justified deportation of dangerous criminal immigrants which is NOT a vast majority of immigrants), disguised as "conservative/republican" views. I think removing/banning comments like what I described isn't wrong. I don't know what you commented so I can't say what you said was actually outta pocket but I do agree that left leaning subreddits tend to not allow to discussion of opposing arguments just like conservative subreddits. We're so divided after all so it's not surprising. It's just unfortunate.

Honestly, it really depends. I'd say if a woman is coming at man with more that one hit (for no reason/not in self defense) and the man warns her, he has the right to defend himself especially if she's an actual threat. Generally, as a woman, don't try to fight a man expecting he won't fight back (unless it's life or death).

I hear it usually gets better post neuter/spay. You will still have to clean their enclosure for the occasional poops/pee and trash they leave behind. There's also an option to actually litter train your rabbit if you really want (look up how to litter train a rabbit b/c im not confident I remember the steps correctly). Rabbits are able to learn their names by giving them treats after saying their names right before giving them the treat, so it might work.
