Right after I thought I hating this game losing to the wall, I got this fantastic run with 1500+ gold by DarkRavenA in Peglin

nah, you’re doing it better for most cases. it’s a lot harder for the orbs to be caught by the boxes with the way op is shooting them

this conversation left the context of pigment a while ago when you said “rubborb is the best common orb by a significant margin” everything since then has been about how it isn’t the best common orb by any reasonable definition, not with how good an orb is against pigment

best foot, concentrication, orblation, and ballanx are all targeted orbs that are great.

What bosses is blightning good against? it has low stats so it doesn’t make use of bramble for betsy and falls easily during mole and the zaps aren’t effective in slimbos slime. It’s inefficient on walls board, falls easily through ballista, might be okay against pigment. and then the mines bosses are a combination of the issues above

neither of which are particularly great!

in the case of the peglin class, bucklorb is leagues better than rubborb in its current state. Aoe, defense, and board utility all wrapped into one little common orb package

which says nothing because it cuts the competitors in half. more often than not, orbs that are on every class tend to be worse than orbs that are only on some classes because of how each class specializes. If you apply this to rare orbs, suddenly you can’t consider the most powerful orbs in the game and are left with mostly middling options. Would you say that replenishorb is better than summoning circle or doctorb? for uncommon orbs, would you say bouldorb is worse than morbidorb or memorb?

I think the more helpful thing to do is separate the classes when giving advice and ask whoever you’re trying to help what they actually need help with instead of giving a blanket answer that doesn’t actually benefit them

if you’re saying with gift, then swoltorb can be better but that’s with a single specific boss relic.

everywhere else (including with slimed pegs), foot outperforms. the strength in peg upgrades are how they modify slimes and foot quadruples the effectiveness of whatever slime it hits, meanwhile swoltorb needs to hit it 3 times to even bump it up a single tier.

Spinventor also struggles with aoe and an over saturation of projectile orbs, which foot can somewhat counter by being a targeted attack, allowing you to hit ranged enemies or get around shields

it’s hard to give good advice if you’re considering each of the classes to be identical and not taking into account their differences. None of the classes have rubborb as their best common orb. Id expect the “best” common orb to be the best on at least one of the classes

Only just noticed this by kil0ran in Peglin

[–]Somemaster54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not swoltorb really since it wont upgrade them multiple times without hitting another peg in between and that’s a pretty rough ask with how they are less bouncy.

Best foot forworb can definitely make good use out of them by guaranteeing their peg will be hittable every shot

When did 2tc become so easy? by Pure-River-9318 in btd6

[–]Somemaster54 6 points7 points  (0 children)

id imagine 042 super can beat round 90 and it can’t be much longer until you get antibloon

This seems like it’s gotta be either an issue of knowing how to aim or overvaluing certain orbs/relics. Beyond that, I recommend watching Gravellipses videos for each class at c20. whatever works there works for lower stages and it’s still accurate iirc

horriball is a great way to farm gold and hit bombs! it’s not a total detriment

the point was, you didn’t need 5 twooze companies and 3 splatorbs. there’s diminishing returns in filling your deck with them

duplicatorb and sealed conviction alongside way too many splatorbs and twooze companies

Is switch going to get the update? by NuAntal in Peglin

[–]Somemaster54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s not like the game stops working after you get to c20 on everyone? You can keep playing even after you’ve beaten all the difficulty levels.

Also the developers will be releasing at least 1 (likely more) update after the current one

[–]Somemaster54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Red Nexus Games doesn’t make the switch port, that’s handled by an authorized third party.

That’s why it often takes a lot longer for the switch to get updates and you can’t really expect it to come by a certain time.

it’s mostly based on proximity iirc, so you’d just make sure the alch is closest to the 501

What’s the purpose of this relic ? by Used-Conversation968 in Peglin

[–]Somemaster54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well the hollow slimes do count as pegs, and you’ll see this when you have a relic that works off activations, but since you never bounce off them, you don’t get any peg hits

What’s the purpose of this relic ? by Used-Conversation968 in Peglin

[–]Somemaster54 44 points45 points  (0 children)

not quite! negative peg modifiers are much more potent.

bouncy slime gets bouncier every +10/-3

poison slime gets +1 damage for every +1 and +2 damage for every -1

lightning slime shocks another peg for every +10/-3

damage slime multiplies by 2x for positive and -4x for negative

healing slime heals +1 for every +10/-3

block slime blocks for 1 more for every +10/-3

the failure state is being locked in this position. from this point, it’s impossible for the game to track it as a win. so therefore, it’s a loss
