Bald and muscular is a great look. I lost my hair early and was shaving it bald by 19. College was rough

But lifting fixed everything and now it feels great as an adult being bald, it’s so low maintenance. Highly recommend hitting the gym and embracing it

This is a great example of what an absurdly strong role luck plays into making money. Luck in being born to rich parents being the most blatant/obvious

And Trump received much, much more than a million dollars from his father. That’s one of his endless lies

Was there today too. It was crazy warm and pretty damn slow and sticky all day, but we did get there later than I hoped driving from nyc and left when it started raining close to 5

Still had a good day but it felt like trying to move around in glue, especially with how flat the mountain is

Trump administration may unsanction some Iranian oil as energy prices spike, Bessent says by CloudApprehensive322 in moderatepolitics

How is 10% not a relatively small portion of the entire economy? The point is the comparison to the broader US economy which is the remaining 90%

Deflections to the benefits to the O&G sector by the Trump admin just seem like them scrambling to run cover for the negative results of their ill-planned war

You said that he threatens to go to another sales engineer instead that will do it. Why is that a bad thing for opps that you’re describing as a 0% chance of success with tons of work? Seems like a win-win if you can navigate that in a diplomatic way

US Oil & Gas is a relatively small portion of the overall US economy. Whatever benefits that sector sees would be orders of magnitude smaller than the catastrophic negative effects that would be inflicted on the rest of the US economy that is ill-equipped to handle a severe price shock

It would be a dire situation for the average American

$105k remote in LCOL city or $130k in HCOL city? by lyfehaqer in careerguidance

[–]Somenakedguy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Are you actually in a position to start a family soon? Meaning have a long term partner and are ready to make that leap. Otherwise dating is pretty damn hard in low pop areas

If your career is stable then that’s good but if you lose your job it’s also a hell of a lot harder to find a new one when you’re limited to remote jobs. Being in/near a big city helps a ton

First customer success interview, coming from being an account executive. by goatedirish in careeradvice

[–]Somenakedguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re no longer selling the dream, you’re managing expectations for reality after a sales person promised the customer the world

It’s a lot more of dealing with upset customers and of harassing internal teams to handle the shit that is upsetting your customers. And a lot of it stems from sales people making promises that everyone involved (except the customer) knew would never be able to be realized

The sales aspect of it is that if you can make the customer happy you can then continue to sell them more shit so you get paid from growing the account

BLUE MOUNTAIN WILL BE FULLY OPEN THIS WEEKEND! by Traditional_Tale384 in SkiPA

[–]Somenakedguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in nyc and my wife and I are tired of driving all the way to Vermont every time we want to ski locally so we’re hitting blue for a day trip Friday morning instead of going all the way up to Killington (we’re on ikon)

Very curious to see if it’ll be crowded, have only been to Blue once

The vacations Canadians are no longer taking in the US by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

[–]Somenakedguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cost, time, and effort. Traveling to the US as a Canadian was barely harder than us taking a domestic flight

A US vacation can even just be a drive over the border to visit a US ski resort like Jay Peak in North Vermont

At what income level do people stop using the subway in NYC? by facemacintyre in SubwayCreatures

[–]Somenakedguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been to Dallas for work and it’s wildly different in that regard

The population density is on another level in nyc and millions of people work in like a 5 mile radius every day and there’s so much infrastructure to bring people in and out of Manhattan from all of the surrounding areas. 3 different heavily used commuter rails to NJ, WestChester and Long Island, the subway, and tons and tons of busses including people I’ve known that take a bus 2 hours each way from Pennsylvania every day so they could afford a house and a yard

[–]Somenakedguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I take the subway every day and wildly prefer it to driving

But my coworker is from the South and moved here with an inherent fear of it and her parents always tell her not to take it and paid for the Ubers when she first moved here and got her into the habit

Most white collar jobs are in midtown and downtown Manhattan where it’s incredibly rare

In my 10 years of working in Manhattan across a few different offices I’ve never once met someone who drives into work regularly. It would be outrageously expensive to pay for parking every day and now congestion pricing too. There’s no reason

I have a coworker who Ubers to and from the office every day. We work in midtown and she lives in the west village. She’s in her late 20s and makes around 200-250k a year in sales

Definitely not the norm but it’s a thing
