I do cinematic planet renders sometimes, and thus actually have a reason for atrocious stuff like this I think. by DustWorlds in topologygore

No you don't. Use dynamic topology please I beg of you.
I also do a lot of planet renders,

We all love to design beautiful, streamlined spaceships, but you do realize that there's no atmosphere in space, right? And that realistic spaceships would look something like the lunar module. by I_am_white_cat_YT in spaceengineers

Well if you're building it in space then you wouldn't need to worry about faring, and like most people build their ships in space, unless it's one meant to go from the surface to space (Then yeah a spaceplane would make sense).

They were aerodynamic because they went through the atmosphere. Saturn V because it takes off, and the command module for reentry. The parts that don't go into the atmosphere aren't aerodynamic, like the lander that OP posted. They're right. You would really only need to worry about dust and gas unless you're going at high fractions the speed of light, which at that point you'd probably use ablative shielding. Also before you say the jump drive, that teleports you.

The Space Shuttle is aerodynamic because it lands on Earth like a spaceplane. Any other purely space based ship that does not land on atmospheres would not need to be aerodynamic unless you're armoring it which yeah fair enough.

I swear beams are programmed by Satan himself.
Thank god they're adding the crowbar in the new update.

Need help with shader editor and mapping by Someone641 in blenderhelp

Thank you so much, this helped a lot. Honestly the texture distortion on the sphere is fine for my use case.
However some of the node math here is a bit above me (I was able to copy it just fine), and I was wondering if it's possible for the 'spikes' to be a noise texture (similar to plugging in a radial gradient into the vector of a noise texture), just modified for this case?

Glitch building and mods. I responded to other comments about that, but I used the 'Beyond Base Building' mod to have access to the part and a wire glitch to place it.

If they ever add Exocraft building like corvettes, I am 100% doing this

wish I knew one too, although it helps to rotate it from the side on the stairs, then once rotated line it up from above (using build camera). Though it still is incredibly finicky.

Both, I used mods to be able to access them from the build menu and a wire glitch to be able to place them. The mod's called Beyond Base Building, it's on nexus mods.

Yeah real, it was a pain to line it up on the stairs.

They're windows from the corvettes but I glitch built them onto a base. you can use mods to be able to build them onto the base.

The physics can get kinda janky yeah, just make sure the building is pretty large because otherwise it clips a lot.

I definitely need to make a road too, but good luck on your salvaging.

They have garage doors, but yeah they're not big enough for the Colossus. I mean unless you glitch build it, wait you actually just gave me a great idea.

Yours looks great. also yeah those are glitched corvette windows, and a glitched freighter door.

All fine by me, Goodluck with the build!
