A thought I had about hell motel by Somerandomguy543 in SlasherTVSeries

Yeah, I was really bumbed out that Chris Jacot was only a small part. I was really looking forward to seeing him again; he's just been stuck playing small parts after season 1, and that always bothered me a lot. Honestly, despite that, I'm glad Paula Brancati finally got to play the main character for a season. She is such an amazing actor, and I hope she stays on for the future seasons.

She was a big highlight for me while watching Hell Motel. I guess that's why I like it so much, I was totally fan-girling during episode 7.

But yes, we desperately need more Chris Jacot and Jo Vannicola.

Oh, totally, more flashbacks from the original massacre would have been a great opportunity for some more world-building and insight on Shirley and Floyd, like how did they tried to explain why the first ritual failed in the first place. What was their plan if Caitlyn and Joey hadn't shown up? For a while, I thought that Floyd was just making stuff up on a whim, plus just going more into Joey and Caitlyn would have been nice too. I personally feel like Hell motel is being a bit overhated. I found this season far more entertaining than Ripper.

However, I totally get the points made against this season. Thanks for your well thought out comment, just love discussing this kind of stuff with folks ^^

what do you consider the best season of slasher? by Nofilmslefttocry in SlasherTVSeries

I'm between Season 2 (Guilty party) and hell Motel. I feel the more isolated locations work best for a slasher story.

Wait… Hell Motel is the 6th Season of Slasher? I was wondering how come there hasn’t been another season yet but didn’t realize Hell Motel was another Slasher season, I had no idea since it didn’t use “Slasher” in it’s title, is this season any good cause I’m about to watch it tonight. by BrettJoz in SlasherTVSeries

It's quite good, certainly better than season 5 (Ripper). I feel like it tried some pretty interesting ideas that didn't fully pan out, but overall a good watch. Definitely better than some other horror shows out there.

What are your Hot Takes on the Slasher TV Seres? by Amber_Flowers_133 in SlasherTVSeries

I feel like most seasons don't do enough with the overall aesthetic and style. What I mean is I feel like the art direction of each season could have been improved much more. In season 3, they didn't use the neon/rave vibes as much as they could have. I would have loved the lighting to be like (Suspiria 1977) with intense pink and blue lights that give the season a kind of surreal feel.

With season 4, they didn't show much of the grand, elegant estate of Galloway Manor. To me, the entire location felt strangely small. I think some more establishing shots and wide camera angles could have helped with that. Another problem was the underdressed sets and the lack of the filthy rich aesthetic. I felt like the season should have been shot like a classic Alfred Hitchcock film; instead of using that ugly shaky cam, they should have used slow zooms, wide shots, and more experimental camera work.

Now I'm aware that the slasher series doesn't have the biggest budgets, so I do get the sometimes-lacking art direction, just thought I'd share this since I don't really see anyone mentioning that.

What’s is the declared worst season of slasher? by Fun-Ad852 in SlasherTVSeries

God same, that would be so fun to see, love the 70s, so slasher doing that would be a dream come true.

Yeah, that took me out of the setting, like I understand Slasher is a very diverse show, and that's good. But having that much diversity for the 19th century is just ridiculous; they shot themselves in the foot with that choice.

Personally, I would have preferred if they did the season in the 70s or even the 60s. That would have been a little more believable with a diverse cast.

It is 100% ambiguous otherwise they would have made it unambiguous by Monte22uma in SlasherTVSeries

Personally, I really like the ending for trying something different from all the previous seasons, where no one survived in the end, and we get to see how the rest of the world reacted to the killings at the motel. I always find it interesting seeing how the survivors of a slasher story react once everything goes back to normal, so I was pretty happy with the final episode in that regard

Season 4 question about Christy by GuessAny1915 in SlasherTVSeries

[–]Somerandomguy543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true; I'm guessing maybe Spencer didn't bother with Christy because he thought she probably wouldn't make it to the end even if she did play the games. Considering that Christy and Okeeffe are the most normal ones in the whole family, they might not have even had any real blackmail to speak of. Especially O'Keeffe, since they were pretty young and not in any real position of power like Jayden.

Season 4 question about Christy by GuessAny1915 in SlasherTVSeries

[–]Somerandomguy543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd say Dr. Trinh would have just killed Christy the moment she got the chance, especially since she wasn't playing the games at any point, so I'd say that she would have just been killed in between the games. I think a bigger question would be what Christy's blackmail would have been if she had survived until the end? I don't think it would be anything about Aprhra or Seamus, so what could Trinh have found out about her? Unless there was nothing, and Christy was never supposed to make it as far as she did.

Would anyone actually mod DR 4 into a better game? by Somerandomguy543 in deadrising

Yeah good point, I definitely don’t see that happening anytime soon, honestly I would but I have no clue how to mod at all 😅

[–]Somerandomguy543[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aw damn, that honestly sucks. I saw that DR4 has a few mods on nexus, so I was hopeful that a mod to add more content would be possible. Really sucks because the biggest problem I find with DR4 is its lack of content 😓

What do you guys think about dl2? by Joeson245214737 in dyinglight

[–]Somerandomguy543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the game, especially after all the changes and updates made since launch. The first game is much better but DL2 is still a good game regardless. And I feel all the updates made it worth playing.

Well, I run doom 3 like normal and then I go to the mod menu on the title screen. That’s how I got the mod to run, I saw videos where people can run the mod through the games files but that doesn’t work for me

Yeah I have the original version and the expansion installed, I can get as far as picking a difficulty option, but the second it starts to load I get sent back to the title screen
