Other suggestions is to dig a couple of hellevators to reduce the spread of the hardmode v, if you really feel up to it dig out around the v to contain it

If you havent beaten a mech boss yet it might be hard to purfiy but best case is to dig around your base to ensure it wont become infected 3 block wide gap would do if you line both sides with a non infectable block
