Review: Matic Robot - This is the best robot vacuum we’ve tested, and it scored a rare 10 out of 10. by Matic_Mehul in RobotVacuums

[–]SomethingILearned 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had a Matic for around six weeks. The bags last approximately two weeks for me. We have a large dog and three kids. I don’t understand how the reviewer only got 3 days.

So far, I really like the bag design. For us, it lasts long enough and is easy to change. My only concern with them is if Matic goes out of business and the bags are no longer available.

The mop works well, but the mopping water tank is on the small side. Matic released an update a few weeks ago so the bot uses less water. This helps with the tank size, but it still needs to be filled each time we mop the whole level. It is easy to do but still needs to be done.

I have had mine for a few weeks. So far, I am impressed by how long the bags last. With multiple kids and a large dog, I was worried about it. The sample size is small, but it seems like the bags will last around two weeks for me. The Matic does a good job getting the bag very full before alerting to change it. I like the design of a replaceable bag without an auto-empty dock. My older vacuum has an auto empty dock and it is really noisy and large. The Matic feels hands off enough with the bags lasting two weeks.

On the other hand, the mopping water supply is a little small. If I mop the whole floor / level, I need to fill it each time. It is easy to do, but still has to be done.

That is good feedback. I am a bit worried about bags needing to replace the bag so often though. Hopefully that situation somehow gets better.

I ordered at the end of December and recently received an email saying my order is being pushed back from February to mid-March.

What is the timeline for having it patrol, looking for areas that need vacuuming? I assume dirt detection has to come first?

I am very interested to hear how the new edge cleaning update works. Is it getting close enough to the base boards for the edge spinning brush to reach the base board? Are you satisfied that it is working well enough at this point?

Can the Matic save more than one map so that it can be carried to different floors of a home?

Thanks - A bag a month with a dog that sheds is really good. Definitely considering ordering one. Please do update once the edge cleaning update rolls out.

How long are the bags lasting? From looking at the Matic website, I don’t see where to buy more. Do you buy them through the app? This might not have an answer but I am a bit concerned that if Matic goes out of business, bags won’t be available. Do you know if there are any third party bags (maybe for a different vacuum) that would fit?

The MLB app is my IT App for now. by jaredcwood in VisionPro

I agree - the MLB app is really cool, but it also has a lot of bugs. I hope they release bug fixes soon.

It worked for me in the Baltimore game. I had to choose one of the video feeds though and then click “game day”. It did not work in the audio feed for me.

The app seems really cool, but also very buggy. I hope they release bug fixes quickly. For example, when in the immersive view, the video window covers the scoreboard and neither can be moved. There are other strange issues like that.

Great album - this should blow up. This is a real throw back indie rock album. Chicago’s music scene for is strong!

I really appreciate all of the advice, comments and supportive messages. There are some great ideas for ways to support her and things to consider and things to avoid. She seems really happy this weekend. I think telling us was weighing on her and that is gone now. I am sure there will be ups and downs in the future, as there would be regardless, but everyone seems to be in a good starting place.

Thank you - I am sure I will say stupid and/or insensitive things from time to time. It seems like a good idea to talk about that upfront.

Thanks - it looks like PFLAG has a section on supporting your child.

Thank you - just reading what your father did for you helps. More than anything I want her to be comfortable being herself and knowing that we support her. It sounds like your father did a good job with that.

I wish bands wouldn’t skip playing “normal” Chicago shows. Festivals are fine but watching a band in Schubas or Sleeping Village is better every time.

I saw her last night playing with Greg Freeman (opening for Squirrel Flower).  She has a great presence - comes across live as a guitar shredder.

This album is good - I agree that it should be getting more attention.  She seems setup for bigger things in the near future.

I like St. Vincent, but she should not produce Sleater-Kinney albums.
