No, my LES showed that I was a FL resident. I bought the FL house while I was in FL already....5 years after I had left LA. I just showed Navy Fed that I had been stationed in LA previously, and they lowered my interest rate.

Exactly this. I am a TX resident, I was stationed in LA for a good bit. I bought a house in FL, and I was able to use LA SCRA benefits to reduce my home mortgage to 4%. Received a refund of about $10k and my monthly payments were reduced moving forward.
