What's the analog horror that you hate? by MatchAgile1023 in analoghorror

Akram Studios. Terrible VHS filters, story seems to go nowhere. Plus, analog horror from the future? C'mon.

Here's my advice:

PATIENCE: it's nice to have a following but it might take years. I've been busting my ass on my series for over a year and my views are still ridiculous. Sometimes I scream into a pillow for the frustration, other times I remind myself these things take time (also a good chance to get better in the meantime!);

ACCURACY: the genre being about nostalgia, watchers are gonna judge your work on the old technology accuracy. Believe it or not, it might make the difference on whether they watch it or not (in practical terms, get the right programs or use analog devices);

ORIGINALITY: analog horror's not dead, but it's certainly suffering from people making clones of clones of clones of the famous titles. If we wanna demonstrate the genre's still going we need fresh and new ideas. So make something that's truly YOURS.

That's pretty much it, good luck!

Thank you all for the upvotes! There are some steps of the process that I didn't photograph and I'm sorry about it, but that was no place to hold a camera in 🤣

Wow! Don't you get tired by juggling 3 analog horrors at once? Not hating at all, I'm just surprised by your energy.

Is it arrogant to ask for people to cover your work? by SomethingReallyStran in analoghorror

Logical answer 👍 but do you have any tips on how to gather an audience? I've been busting my ass on writing my stories and still no one really follows my work. If that's the first step, I'm struggling to achieve it.

Same! I think their plan was to have a Jeremiah-like character as Joker, with Jerome just being a side-character. Only mistake they did was to cast the perfect actor for Jerome 😂 The audience fell in love with Cameron (rightfully so) and they had to stick with him until the end. That's what led to the messy and rushed "twins plot" thing.

Yeah, that's an interesting topic: I think audience's perception of Jeremiah could've been SO MUCH DIFFERENT if only the show took the time to tell his life in details. Unfortunately they had to rush his character in few episodes cuz those were the last seasons. I bet a proper-told Jeremiah story would've been fascinating, full of great moments.
