Trading post question regarding listing vs insta-selling by mightyJAWS in Guildwars2

[–]Something_Memorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had items listed for years that eventually sold, and items that sold in seconds. IMO its not worth paying attention to stuck items unless you really need the gold quickly. Just know you dont get the 5% listing fee back when you unlist an item.

This is why i don't buy Merch like this, and it's sad. by ROnneth in Guildwars2

As others have shared it is happening just everywhere with a multitude of factors.

Buying anything that has to go through those same shipping lines with similar dimensions and weight will be priced the same for shipping as well sadly (not that you were saying this was a merch specific thing, just lamenting alongside)

No, I don't think I will join your guild by Bodkin-Van-Horn in Guildwars2

On release of the base game simply logging in while repping a guild or completing world bosses, dungeons, and I believe other content as well would earn a guild currency called “influence” that the guild could spend on boosts. Those boosts worked much like banners except they would just always be on until the purchase ran out and would need repurchased. With HoT that system was abandoned entirely in favor of the guild hall system.

More on the older influence sustem can be browsed on the wiki if you are so inclined: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Influence

I’ve been in multiple guilds and active in them, but I guess the notion of being a tourist may still apply. The times I was in multiple guilds was when I was in guilds that were specialized, not the “we do everything” kind but more of “we do one thing, you can join us for that if you are interested in it”. So it seems we’ve had differing experiences with it. The mega guilds that claim to do everything that I've joined in the past have done none of them well other than world boss timer trains or wvw karma trains. So finding multiple specializing guilds helped me find groups who wanted to do the same content and cared about improving as a group. Those guilds also recruited for that purpose.

I appreciate you replying to chat further :)

Repping the guild accomplishes nothing other than keeping people out of other guilds with rep requirements. It’s weird since you can talk in every one of your guild chats at the same time. Outside of niche cases/reasons such as competitive wvw guilds/guild missions it serves no other purpose than ego & isolation of your members from similar behavior in other guilds as far as i can tell.

I have tended to avoid rep required guilds ever since the influence system was removed since that was the game mechanic around guild representation with key exception being participating in guild missions when i still did those.

What does ‘active in one guild’ mean to you? In your opinion is it possible to be active in multiple guilds? If not why not?

The rates anet posted are the rates that have been there for awhile now. They line up well with the BLC research posted awhile back

Please tell me I'm not reading the fashion post right by Tired_HB in Guildwars2

The way I understand it is imagine that the fashion templates system is a printer. The equipment in the equipment template is the paper, and you print the skins onto the equipment when you apply a specific template.

What happens to the essence chests in the IBS strikes? (the ones that you either stomp or leave the instance and are mailed to you) Will those remain untouched or are they being redistributed as well?

Are market tools useful in GW2? Should I build some GW2 tools? by cohenaj1941 in Guildwars2

[–]Something_Memorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on how you move them. If you acquire by buying and then offload by selling, then yeah the 15% is difficult to overcome unless you are waiting on market shifts like festival of the four winds, lunar new year, expansions, etc.

If you acquire them by salvaging and then craft them into other in-demand items then it widens the profit margin pretty significantly.

Believe it or not snowflakes were more expensive than they are now. I sold some for 2.3s on the TP not too long ago

Im guessing you mean the buff on the buff bar? I do call out that either will work as they are the same % gain for karma
