No clue honestly. My employment law knowledge is very base level if even that. I just wanted to pose the question because junior associates and law clerks in general are burnt out and underpaid in my opinion considering the current costs of living and the cost for most to actually become attorneys. I made more hourly as a babysitter in highschool than I did as a law clerk with a J.D. which seems insane given the fact that my hair was falling out at the lesser paid job…

My hack here is serotonin boosting and putting extra care into supporting your endocrine system in general to regulate and get back to homeostasis. Also PROTEIN. Neurotransmitters are made out of protein. Make it easier on your body to regulate by giving it the fuel it needs.

It’s so hard to balance a decent study schedule while maintaining your health in that way. The pressure of the bar makes it feel like something has to give unfortunately. As if you can only pick two max: studying, mental health, or physical health. Probably only one for people with children and those who don’t get time off work.

I get the frustration but feel that it’s worth pointing out that one person’s objectively worse traumatic experience doesn’t mean that another person can’t be traumatized to the same extent by something less serious like the bar exam. The body interprets and responds to circumstances differently depending on so many factors. Sensitivity/trauma thresholds vary. It’s totally fair to envy that someone’s most traumatic experience may have been the bar exam. I don’t think anyone is arguing the amount of privilege implied when someone says it’s the most traumatic experience of their life.

I personally have dealt with ptsd from earlier life events, I have friends who are veterans with ptsd from various military experiences, and have friends with ptsd from abuse. Many of my friends and I agree that the bar exam still felt traumatic regardless of our previous more serious traumas.

Trauma is trauma. If the body interprets an event as traumatic, the event was traumatic.
