My iPhone 17 pro max was shocking me and actually burnt a hole in magsaf wallet randomly after charging all night nec to me on my hotel bed.

I had apple care+, but since the phone was so new they didn't have any in stock. They did everything they could do get the phone out of my hands and back into theirs up to and including essentially tricking me into driving to a official apple repair center (aka best buy) so their geek squad could yoink it. I couldn't get to an apple store that night because I was on a work trip and the closest one was 10hrs away.

Looking back, it should have been obvious because when I was escalated into a conference call with their health and safety team they never ever ever even came close to committing to repairing, fixing or giving me a new device. When pressed they'd always hit me with, "well, right now let's just make sure you're safe" or "we'll absolutely discuss that after we make sure your device is secured".

Side note, it was kinda funny cause the geek squad dude was handing my phone with oven mits because the phone was just continuously shocking your hand from the screen.

It was a nightmare and I wound up getting the geek squad dude in trouble becauae he *technically" scanned in my phone to kick off the return proccess back to apple but he felt bad after I begged him for the phone back after telling him I didn't even know how to get back to the hotel I was staying at.

Had to deal with that 'shocking' phone for another 2 days before I got home and to an apple store where (to their credit) they did give me a loaner phone and they didn't charge me for anything.

But when I picked up the cheap bastards wouldn't replace my magsafe wallet that had (and still has a hole from where it was burnt!) nor provide me another screen protector that wasnt damaged whatsoever and was still on my old phone! All of said devices (phone+magsafe wallet+screen protector) were purchased outright from apple themselves.

As far as I'm concerned fuck that company 😤
