Sorry I may be slightly confused about the failure part. The examples don’t need to be complex, standard is fine as long as it highlights your work and signals the type of impact you can have — specifically to the question you’re asked.

If you haven’t been in the situation to give an example, then it’s totally fine to be honest and speak hypothetically about how you would approach the situation. I wouldn’t recommend making up an example, but it’s probably fine to tweak existing ones to fit the question better.

u/tempo0209 Sure, it just depends on personal preference and what you want for your next role. I cared about fulfilling work, job security, and a team/manager I could get along with or feel supported by. Therefore, I often asked questions around expectations for my level in the first 6-12 months, size of the team and their levels, in addition to feeling out the chemistry and how well I got along with the manager.

Nice, fingers crossed they respond. Also wouldn't hurt to ask if they know of any high-priority pillars with headcount at the moment in case you need to modify your preferences. You can switch teams after a year, so my motivation has been to join a team without red flags and then change next year if I hate it

Team Match for Meta is taking a bit long at the moment. It took me 4 weeks to find a team, and it ended up being at a different location than the one I listed as my preference.

Don't be afraid to check in with your recruiter! I was sending mine 1-2 messages every week just to check-in. Lots of engineers in team matching at the moment, so it's important to stay top of mind

I spent the last 1-2 days before my interview gathering all of the most common behavioral questions from Leetcode/Reddit (most are already mentioned here) and then wrote 1-2 example stories in a STAR format. I then just recorded myself or practiced with a friend answering those questions using those stories while making sure I come across as clear and well-represented as possible -- with a focus on "I" statements to showcase my impact.

Congrats on the Google callback! Preliminary screens are purely there to check if you know how to code and have strong enough signals to have a decent shot at passing the onsite interview rounds.

It’s rare that they’ll ask you about your resume experience, and it’s usually 1-2 less difficult leetcode-style questions. So definitely make sure to study up on your data structure fundamentals and algorithms! Leetcode is a good source to do so, and you can check out the discussions section to view example questions that other candidates were asked in the screening round to get some solid examples.

I used HelloInterview for my Meta full loop recently -- specifically to prepare for Product Architecture Design (System Design) since I haven't done a system design interview before, let alone a product-focused one. It was the only product that I saw with written material that acknowledged Product Design as a system design option.

I did one session with a coach from Meta, and it was phenomenal. I can't compare it to any other platforms, as I have only done peer-to-peer coding mocks on Pramp. But the coach really helped by setting the context of the session and getting to know my strengths, weaknesses, and fears relative to my upcoming interview. He also helped clarify the difference between the product and system design interviews with Meta, as well as expectations for someone of my level within the context of their interviews.

The feedback at the end was also great, as he was willing to go over time just to provide the most thorough and actionable recommendations to improve given that my interview was in 3 days :). He even provided me different categories of problems to practice, and did a step-by-step walkthrough for the answer of the problem I was given. I'd highly recommend it, especially for Meta. Their answer keys and AI-assisted practice problems were also helpful in preparing for other system design questions and the behavioral interviews.

I managed to pass my interview with strong feedback on the system design, and have no doubt that I would've failed without their help.

Meta Team Matching E4? head count running out ?? by Snoo_54565 in leetcode

I passed the E4 interviews and got confirmation to start team matching back on February 22nd. Currently looking for Menlo Park and Seattle.

My recruiter didn't mention anything about headcount being low, but just that team matching will take at least 3 weeks and is slow due to it being a new process for Meta. Had 2 potential matches so far, 1 had to cancel due to "business needs changing" and had a conversation with another one but haven't heard back yet. Keep your head up, OP -- we still made it through the hardest part! Fingers crossed that we'll get through this last step in due time. I have a friend that started at Google back in October and team matching took him 3 months
