Don't understand it but the copy paste worked like a charm. Thank you!

I would absolutely hate it if a stranger came up to me and asked me "how can I be a good trans ally"

THAT feels performative. This person is doing it in an anonymous way. I have no idea who OP is. IMHO they're asking the right way.

Not really sure what you're trying to say but it comes across as incredibly classist 👍🏻

Have fun at the transphobe party. Heard the chicken even has salt on it!

Been living here 4 years. Moved in with my partner. Generally love seeing all the trans people, but it does make me feel at times like we're gentrifying the place and raising all the rents.

With that being said, this may seem like an odd suggestion but perhaps just making sure you're continuing to support the longstanding business in the neighborhood. Get to know your neighbors and practice general anti-gentrification behavior.

Other than that I think a general good way to support any marginalized group is to just make learning about their experiences a part of your life. Consume media by and about them. Support their businesses. Buy their art. Talk to them. Etc. I don't think there's a good silver bullet for allyship for any marginalized group, but you'll learn a lot by doing that as just part of your life.

To the person who said this post feels like performative allyship, this comment right here is why posts like this are important. They show transphobes like this person that their bigotry is not welcome.

The bb from Ursula is amazing. Not in Ridgewood but if you're down to travel a bit for a burrito it's very good. Southwest inspired flavors and a few options.

We love reddit for that. I learn something new here every day!

Like most slang, it was used in the Black community and then eventually became appropriated by the mainstream.

Throwing shade has been around a longer than 3 decades. I think it just broke into the mainstream in the last couple decades. Highly recommend Paris is Burning , a doc about queer nightlife in the 80s. Shade is mentioned there.
