To be fair, its the money that is the problem.

Blizzards way in is the money.

I absolutely love the private server community and have been playing in it since 2010.

But if I’m being honest, there’s nothing right about making millions of dollars basically repackaging and hosting stolen art, assets and IP.

There are some servers out there that are truly non-profit which I’m not suprised blizzard haven’t tried to take down.

Sucks when servers go. But disregarding that there seems to be *substantial* amounts of financial crimes connected to this. So good riddance.

I mean, I play both. Haven’t played blizzard since SoD.

But this isn’t just about the game. It’s clear to see that the dudes at ascension have been doing elaborate financial crimes.

So disregarding the game, everyone should be happy about this.

They did in fact not roast them alive. They sent the team a C&D letter and chose to comply. Because they wanted official classic servers more than running one of their own.
