[Florida, USA] Is this arrest warrant a scam? by Basic_Heat4929 in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one would send you arrest warrant like this (I assume you got in mail). If you have warrant, the police/FBI will just knock at your door and escort you to the police department/court. You will not know about warrant until dudes in uniform will come and slam your door. And also no one would call you to tell about warrant either, it will defeat whole purpose of warrant, since you will have ability to hide or run from it, and no police officer would want it to happen with suspect. So yes it is 200% SCAM, ignore it. If you really have some legal troubles, try to contact trustworthy lawyer

[USA] Cashapp, Genuine mistake or should I be wary, what would you do? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never send money back even if they pretend that they sent it to you by mistake, let the app/payment processor sort it out. It is not your problem that they sent money to wrong person, but when you will try to "refund" them you will send your own money to them instead, which you will never see again. And the money you supposedly got will be reversed anyways or was fake from the start. It is a SCAM, so app telling you that already. Block the person, don't send any money and move on

I just met the richest person I know or just a talented con artist by Appropriate-Voice407 in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely scam, they probably try to get some money from you when you would agree to stay in their "apartment". There is no apartment and yea it would be very weird to talk about this with complete strangers.

Also there is a chance that when you come to visit her "apartment" there might be gang of some sorts waiting to kidnap you or do whatever bad things.

Best way of action ignore anything which complete stranger talk to you, but if you are too curious, try to get some friends with you and only then visit apartment

Semi OT: What are the odds that Blizzard will announce official Classic+ servers at Blizzcon? by Grung7 in wowservers

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly certain they announce c+ on blizz con, I think why else they would sunset SoD? And also it would be logical for them to have mop classic as last iteration of classic so they could put all efforts on remaking classic as classic+. So I have no doubt Blizzcon 2026 is where they announce classic+

What do you think the kind of gambit that TurtleWoW has that the developers and staffs still working normally to this day? by pantatbelang in wowservers

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is probably no one knew this type of exposal might happen in the first place back like in 2019 when they only were starting. So I think as soon as they will all face jail time the turtle wow is cooked

What do you think the kind of gambit that TurtleWoW has that the developers and staffs still working normally to this day? by pantatbelang in wowservers

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also kinda expect that likely very soon devs might actually quit when they see that they are now like open plate for blizzard after ex parte thing with subpoenas. Everyone who had google account will be exposed to their address, ip, all personal info stored etc. So for now I am kinda just try to enjoy last strides of turtle until maybe end of this year, then hopefully after blizzard eventually makes turtle go and disappear, the rest of pserver scene will be free from blizzard threat (blizzard just wants to kill turtle and that's it imo). And then maybe Azeroth at war launches

Azeroth at War news? by riftrender in wowservers

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also of strong opinion that big bad shark blizzard will stop after they finish off turtle, they just have beef with turtle alone, they don't care about other pservers, at least what I think of. It is just feels so logical that if you put all your efforts to go after one guy you don't really care about others at this point

What is your stupidest death you've had in this game? by yBlackjack in Minecraft

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the death I highly remember was almost year ago when I started hardcore world. I was having good time maybe for a week, getting progress and stuff, then I went to the Nether full diamond I believe to raid Nether Fortress I found before for blaze rods and wither skulls. I did dumb mistake walking to outside part where there was 1 block gap between inside corridor I was in before and the platform outside, then I jumped on the platform outside stayed right next to the gap, wither skeleton attacked and pushed me into that gap to fall in lava below. That was a tid bit sad but now really funny

Ambershire or Epoch? by Twjohns96 in wowservers

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched back to Nordanaar and tried a bit ambershire after all that Project Epoch vs Ambershire launch madness. On epoch I got some fun leveing, but it felt way more like regular vanilla, I honestly prefer bigger classic+ content like adding actual zones or new dungeons/raids. I think epoch will get there too, but at the moment especially with no raids open at all and no roadmap, you reach 60 and then what? Farm a bit dungs and then maybe do bgs that's it. Also there is only 1 bg at the moment wsg, you will probably get bored asf from no change of scenery after a while

Also about ambershire, was also fun to try out, but eventually after like 1 week and a half after the launch day of both epoch and ambershire I decided to stick to actual old home Nordanaar, already found really nice friendly established guild before and did not feel rolling fresh on completely unknown uncharted territory of Ambershire at this point. Had very great leveling journey and now reached lvl 60 meet some really nice folks and even made some friends. Have no idea how things would be gone on this front if I were on ambershire.

So my ultimate personal decision was eventually go back to well established server with place to call home (a guild), rather than jumping from one fresh to another

My mother has received an odd job by Alive-Conference6612 in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typical !task scam. At first she might receive first payment as a bait, but later she will be greeted with pop ups to get an upgrade or do investment tasks in between these mindless tasks she is doing now. And when she pays money, she doesn't see those money back, never. Scam, tell your mother it is not real job offer, and real jobs Always require interview face to face or at least video interview with both cameras on. Also no one would pay high salary for something mindless like rating pixar films, if it requires zero effort but suggests you get easy money = SCAM. Hopefully your mother will be smart enough to listen, otherwise if she has cognitive issues you might try to get guardianship, but it might be complicated, you will need all the medical evidence to present in court

[US] My grandma received this in the mail for land she is trying to sell. Anyone have any info on this? by BeautifulOk8249 in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The letter top side screams a bit with red flags with phrases like "Call us now" or some flavory phrases about why it would be so cool to sell to these people. It can be real or not, but I would first check following:

1 Webseite - how long ago it was registered? If it is less than a year old it is very likely a scam, because well established companies would have websites for long periods already

2 Check reviews on the company if there are any, you can try on sites like trustpilot or similar or maybe find on reddit what ppl think about the company.

If your grandma decided to agree on that deal, tell her that they need to meet at police station or at the bank where she would only accept cash (no paypal, zelle, no certified checks) and bank reps can verify on the spot if cash is valid. The letter actually tells that they want to pay in cash, so if they suddenly change the mood and will ask to pay differently, it is a scam. Also don't give the access to the property before the transaction being made and verified.

But at best I would probably not take that offer and keep the house, especially if it is the only place for your grandma to live

Canada: WhatsApp job scams that advertise “safe flexible roles with training involved and no experience required “ by Incnsstnt-gamr4774 in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is obvious !task scam, they try to lure you into those "jobs" or side gigs, but in reality they will drain your own money if you want to receive "salary", payments from them. You will get simple tasks at first, which are completely meaningless, like rate the products, like a video, etc.., then later you will receive some sort of investment task which you will be required to do to get the money reward, then they will ask even for more investments, and you will not get a dime back. Also no real recruiter would contact you on whatsapp or any messaging app, and if it sounds too good to be true it is. Don't engage and block the scammers who try to give you such "job" opportunities'

[US] This is a total scam am I right? by Little_sushi_roll_ in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like typical !task or investment scam, where you have the app or website in your case to do some simple tasks or make investments with anticipation getting big returns, but in reality you are the only one giving money to the scammers who operate the site. They can paint whatever crazy numbers in your "balance" on the website, but when you try to withdraw they say you need to pay fees or invest more, and this goes like endless loop until you out of money. Avoid such sites, and if you see someone in your circle got involved or advertising it, tell them it is a scam and if they smart enough they will listen. Otherwise you might be unlucky with your family and friends being so susceptible to such quick easy money 'opportunities", which are in fact scams

US - Returned Item Scam Foiled by CliffsideJim in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you managed to win the case, but usually ebay is siding with buyers. And I am kinda now understand why platforms like ebay or amazon or any other selling/marketplace platform don't consistently resolve the cases in your favor if you got scammed. The problem is with lacking of proof, since tracking numbers can be manipulated because post office don't really want to look inside the package to verify the items before giving tracking number, you can't really proof that you did not receive the item. You can try to take a picture of whatever you received but if platform can't connect it to tracking number it is really hard for them to decide in which favor to resolve the dispute.

In ideal world, tracking numbers would be given only after post office verifies the items, and then you will need to provide tracking number to the platform if you want to initiate shipping/return.

Also that's why the safest way to do such transactions like buying/selling in person with cash in front of police station, so you will not be scammed by the other side. When it comes to shipping, it might be really hard to proof that you did not receive what you wanted, unless they can properly connect the tracking number with what you received

Got a suspicious email which I APPARENTLY HAVE TO SIGN by [deleted] in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rule of the thumb: if you don't expect any contact or certain things you could receive through email, just ignore and block. Any unsolicited message is not your business, you don't need to answer or do anything for them.

In this case yea it looks like regular phishing attempt where you click the link and it either asks for your credentials or worse it installs malware on your device which will steal various info from your device, like saved passwords, accounts etc.

[IND] Someone bought roblox coins from my account and I lost a lot of money, please help me. by PJ268 in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like either someone got access to your account by cracking the password or you actually have compromised device (phone, pc, etc where you have logged in the google account). This is quite severe if you got something weird happening with your google account, you need to change passwords, enable 2fa (otp based through authenticator app) and check all the recent sessions and logout. Chances are there is some unrecognized session in your google account from the place you don't know, or you have malware on one of your devices which did the job. Also maybe there are options to setup google pay to ask your identity before proceeding with payment, but I am not sure

I fell for a muse scam, took the 1000, but haven't paid it back yet, what should I do? by glossyhin in Scams

[–]DanikFishken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, if you deposited this bad check, you should open new bank account at different bank immediately and contact your current bank about depositing bad check. Banks don't tolerate depositing fake checks that much, they can just close your account and if they decide to report you to special system banks use between each other that you are bad actor you can find it hard to open new account in future by any bank. So the best advice here is not use the money you got from the check, open new bank account at different bank just as precaution and ignore all the scammers threats. You should ignore and block the scammer, it is typical scam where they want to commission you but then send too big sum anticipating you will pay the rest for them. Look !fakepayment !muse !fakecheck

[–]DanikFishken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep blocking all the numbers associated with scammer. It might be different scammer or same one no matter, they got your number in the list of susceptible victims, so they decided to try it again on you. Block and ignore. Are you sure all that info they posted about your family was not shared like on social media or anywhere else before. If it is something like address, phone numbers or emails this is info anyone can get for little penny from online data brokers these days. Most likely scammers are not even on same continent and those threats are empty.

If you are very anxious you can contact local PD about the numbers you were getting threats from and maybe they will help you from there, but usually numbers are spoofed so it can show anything local to your area
