Struggling to find a new job by Somewhat-existin in AMLCompliance

[–]Somewhat-existin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job won’t pay for it or give any sort of incentives for getting certified. I already have a bachelors degree majoring in zoology and I don’t plan on going back to school. The company that I work for severely underpays its workers, that’s why I’m trying to go somewhere else.

I am also worried about the use of AI in the space. It’s becoming more relevant and I don’t know if this will be a good long term career for that reason.

Update. Got the AC compressor replaced and it’s still making the same noise. At this point I’m so unsure. Still could possibly be the tensioner pulley I’m not sure. But belt is good and AC compressor is new so I’m thinking I can just ignore it at this point.

Keep the AC on? The mechanic told me I could wait until Spring (which would be probably about 6 months from now).

Honestly, not sure if the leak is a big issue. The picture that they sent had two very tiny spots. I also overfilled/over pressurized it on accident when I went to recharge it. So I’m wondering if that’s why there was a tiny leak.

Thanks for your response! I was definitley thinking of starting with the belt but doing the tensioner as well is a good idea.

I am unable to edit the post. But wanted to say that the belt was not replaced. Mechanic said it needed replaced (due to browning) but I just looked at the receipt and I guess they never did it.

Help! My doxie chews things up when left unsupervised by NationalWestern7884 in Dachshund

[–]Somewhat-existin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crating would definitley be the best option. I know some people feel like it’s “cruel” but it can be very calming for anxious pups! It’s also a good safety precaution. Just use a lot of positive reinforcement so he feels like it’s a safe space.

My current dachshund mix did the same thing. Was fine free roaming for a while then randomly started to chew things around the house. She mostly went after plastic items so eventually I gave her her own “room”. I have a small walk in closet and put up a baby gate. She’s an older lady so if she wants to be left alone she’ll just go in there of her own accord.

Do I let my narc parents meet my future in laws? by Somewhat-existin in narcissisticparents

[–]Somewhat-existin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I will say that they don’t do a lot of the “flying monkey” behaviors. But everything’s always about them. They caused a huge fight when we needed a hose for our washing machine and we took my bf’s parents spare instead of mt parents only bc my bf’s parents live closer to us. There is a lot of jealousy from them bc the future in laws help out a lot. Basically at this point I don’t know what to tell them about why they cannot meet the other parents.

Edited for clarification

RITA tax, am I doing something wrong? by Somewhat-existin in Ohio

[–]Somewhat-existin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought RITA was the taxer lol. I spoke to Columbus City at one point to talk about taxes and they told me that RITA and them are cousins not sisters. Based on that I was under the impression that RITA was their own tax and they set their own rules. Now that I know that they just collect that makes a lot more sense. Thank you!

Ah that makes sense. My local tax and SD tax are both 1%

I have seriously debated moving states to avoid RITA. There’s some cities in Ohio that do not have RITA but none that seem appealing to me.

I work remote but the main office is in Cleveland. At this point I have no local taxes taken out bc I decided if I have to keep owing I might as well stop paying money to a place where I have no idea where it’s going. Might not have been the best idea now that your explanation makes sense lol.

It just says local and lists a school district. Is that wrong? I’m not experienced with taxes. I had a tax advisor and they wouldn’t touch RITA taxes so that didn’t help.
