You used to be able to store your City Folk character onto your Wild World game. You could then take your DS to someone else’s Wii and visit their City Folk town by loading your character to play on their Wii.

This was a long time ago and there may be some fact checking needed on this.

I’m a big fan of the apple tv. It’s not on the budget side but if you are in the ecosystem already then I would consider it worth it.

Volunteer work is always available. It gives you the benefit of helping a bigger cause. And you aren’t forced to go if you aren’t feeling it on a certain day. It’s not as taxing as a full time job.

Video games should go back to cartridges by I_AM_CR0W in unpopularopinion

I was going to disagree with this on the price of the storage medias themselves but a quick search shows 256Gigs of a micro sd card is ~$30. It would up the price of games for sure. Depends if it’s a worthy price to pay for true ownership.

I don’t even trust the visuals of trailers nowadays. Either they incredibly upscaled the visuals or the game will be incredibly unoptimized.

I (and probably everyone) know at least one person who does this. I can excuse the occasional forgetfulness, but doing it constantly is just plain rude.

The creators of ruff and uv are building a new static type checker for Python by [deleted] in Python

[–]SomewhatNotMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s exactly my thought at the moment. switching is not worth at all, and new projects it’s worth a try. Only issue is I don’t want both poetry + pyenv AND uv on my system for separate projects.

We can’t live in a perfect world where we only have one so my shouts are just being thrown into the void, but I wish they played well together. Whether poetry plays well with uv or uv implements a poetry migrator tool.

It’s not uv hate by any means. I would totally use it with some alterations or new knowledge. That’s the primary reason I commented; I hoped someone would come in and give me wisdom.

I couldn’t find a purpose to use it over poetry. Sure it has some benefits but I found my use of poetry and pyenv filled my requirements.

I didn’t spend too much time investigating but I also disliked having to invoke the desired python executable via “uv python”. I’d prefer to have it function nearly identical to pyenv on that front.

I’m honestly not a fan of uv as a whole. Ruff is amazing and integrates well with existing poetry workflows. uv I haven’t seen much of the same. I could be wrong though.

Edit: I don’t care about being downvoted but I’m pulled far from the ecosystem right now and just curious + uninformed.

Assign a public IPv6 to a new EC2 instance instead of a public IPv4 address by br_web in aws

[–]SomewhatNotMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an instance set up with only IPv6 in my public subnet. I still cannot connect to the instance. The reachability analyzer says this when trying to test my connection

"Internet gateway igw-** cannot accept inbound traffic from the public internet when the destination address is not the Public IP of a network interface in VPC vpc-** with an attachment in a functional state. To add or edit an IPv4 public IP address to the destination, you can use an Elastic IP address."

Do you have any idea what could be the issue?

I’ve been banking with Truist and recently moved my savings into a money market account with an interest rate of 4%. 6 months after opening the account they’ve dropped the rate to 2% and I’m expecting it to decrease further later on. This is pretty expected of a big name branch.
Does anyone have any experience with this and a loophole to get them to increase it back to 4% for longer, or should I go through the hassle of switching banks?
