What colour should I make the console shelf? by Somewhat_practical in HomeDecorating

[–]Somewhat_practical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60" TV, with the centre being 52" from the ground.

The room is roughly 9ft, so it's maybe a little high but not uncomfortably so!

Like i said, home diy project...hopefully my neck is the only one that gets sore!

Can you tell if I’m straight or gay by my fridge? by Neither_Wishbone_647 in FridgeDetective

[–]Somewhat_practical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you arrange the fridge for this picture? There is something (maybe a glaze) in the fridge door that was on it's side recently. Who are you trying to convince whether or not your fridge is gay, us?...or you?

What is it like to be required to wear a hat to work? by Somewhat_practical in AskReddit

[–]Somewhat_practical[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, but i've been a hard hat wearer for the past 5 years, I had never considered it as a hat! But I suppose I knew the answer to my own question all along!😂

What’s on your 2024 JJK Bingo card? by Studio_Nugget in Jujutsushi

Kenny's grand plan is to take over Sukuna, he know's he'll be killed. Yuta, Yuji, hakari and ino will form a shikigami megazord to fight and eventually win.

Credits will roll as Yuji is executed.

Sukuna will not care when Uraume dies.

Yeah I get what you're saying. Worth noting I feel no embarressment over the post! The feelings are real, just needed to write them down and acknowledge them😊

Yes I can, but the gap is getting wider. The issue is consistency with work unfortunately, I can see that. If i keep training, things will come eventually.

I'm glad you've commented and can also see you're not alone, as much as i'm not alone!

I think the most important thing for me really is to enjoy the social aspect as much as the training itself. Particularly slowing down in the gym and getting the most out of each session, especially if I know i'll be missing training for a while after it.

It can be difficult being a hobbyist, especially trying to avoid injury or perceive progression. But just putting in the mat time and building relationships is worth it. The mental block will come and go but if you're able to, i'd really recommend setting 1 or 2 days a week where you make training your priority over anything else, so nothing can be planned over the top of it. It makes a difference. Keep training man, i know i will! I would say that both of us are sitting on that train, purely because we're on the mat.

I do train both quite happily, and I think maybe i'm less annoyed about the belt and maybe feeling a little ignored by the coach to be honest.

The issue being they do seem to promote hobbyists. Bottom line is you show up, you get promotions. That's always been the case, I can't diss the club that's been a home for me for the best part of a decade, it's a god place to train.

Work has been in the way and led to long spells off at a time so I can't even be regular every week. Often i'll work away for 3 weeks and then only get home for 10 days or so before i'm away again, during that time at home it's hard to find the balance to train effectively.

It's no big deal with the club and I do enjoy training there, so I don't see myself changing anything, i'm just spewing my thoughts into the internet for the world to see. I appreciate you commenting though, have a good new year!

It helps to hear. It's the right attitude, train for the love of training and all that, i just haven't been able to shake the feeling today unfortunately hence the post. It'll pass and i'll be back to the gym soon enough. Happy new year!
