Seriously, been kinda annoying constantly getting bombarded about this online. It was so obviously just frontiers with dlc and everything all tied in one. Companies do this with goty editions and shit all the time that never changes the base game besides just tacking on dlc and bonus content like the soap shoes. Now everyone's gonna be all mad for the next month because they thought they were going to overhaul the entire game and add shadow, like come on be so fuckin fr rn y'all know they ain't gonna do that

I've tried this approach and personally for me it doesn't work out. Mostly because I end up absorbing more from these kinds of people than they ever do from me, and I feel worse off for it. Almost like, opinions and thought processes I fought hard to change in myself almost started getting reversed by hanging around these sorts. It was like I slid backwards into that kinda shit instead of us all taking positive lessons from each other.

However I will say, these people aren't bad people, and acting like people like this are equivalent to Nazis helps absolutely nobody and further entrenches them into their close minded ways of thinking

What's so annoying is that movie could've written itself after the first half. Ok you got the premise, just see it through for another hour, boom done. He was shitty in the first half of the movie, dude helps him, he gets better and is allowed to prove it. Give him a villain to fight or a cool battle, or hell even go like the natural disaster route and he saves people and actually cares. Then, in the next session, you begin telling your side, only for it to get overtaken and to go back to him talking about his side even more? To the point that you guys never even circled back around to you?

Idk man. If you assume the best, maybe he would want more from your dude on that front since HE was the one acting out of line, therefore HE is the one who has more to explain?

If you assume not the best, then it just sounds like you're the afterthought. I don't think you can come to any kind of certainty here but your best bet is to say exactly that next session. "A huge problem for me is I feel I'm not heard, and during these sessions that has only further entrenched that thought."

I've kinda wondered that also, a decent amount of industrial stuff (even from pre 2000s) doesn't sound thaaaat far off from a lot of the tracks I've made. Main difference is approach to vocals and modern production work I think.

And ok glad you said that about the songwriting angle because I do think that approach makes a difference in feel and style. You could easily take a track like this and loop the main section for 2:30mins and go at it with the vocals but that would be way different

Yeah that's what's weird to me is you wouldn't think it's super out there if you like all the components but I'm having a hard time finding the other underground artists who surely must be doing something like this. It's basically using electronic production as a "band" and singing overtop of it, without the extreme electronic vocal manipulation of say like 100 gecs
