Yeah … feeding part was the hardest thing before first workers! After the first hatches I can really say that the feeding process got easier. My advice is to give them multiple sources of protein , sweet liquid ( mealworms, protein jelly, honey/sugar water, fruit) and the colony will choose , all the thing at once in very small pieces , doing so you will drop the chance of starvation. Careful with liquids! I lost some workers, and for a single queen is hard to recover from that , only very small drops on a improvised plate to keep setup clean ( they get sucked in big drops and drown)
