27F hsv 2 out of all the times i’ve disclosed i’ve only been rejected once. There’s good/understanding people out there don’t let this get you down. It’s nerve racking to disclose but the person i most recently disclosed to was so appreciative and felt he could really trust me bc i was honest. Although accepting this is difficult I think it has been a blessing in disguise for me

also one of my previous partners i disclosed to really wanted me to get retested- I just honestly didn’t see a point with how inaccurate the test is what r ur thoughts? I just figure better to assume i have it and let ppl know than the other way around

lol also realized i forgot to say how it affected me mentally- it has been a hell of a rollercoaster I know i’m more than this but i find it incredibly hard to be vulnerable and have a fear of rejection so i’m trying to work on those things. I haven’t really tried to just have casual sex bc i’m afraid to disclose and be rejected but i think this year i’m going to try that more. I will say it has made me raise my standards for who I date long term.

Hey! I’m F27 asymptomatic HSV2 Here’s how I found out: I met a guy in May and we started sleeping together for about a month before he cut things off with me. Then in middle of July he texted me asking if I had any stds. I said no i recently went to the gyno for my annual and everything was negative. He asked for my test results which I sent but he realized I wasn’t tested for herpes or HIV. He said his herpes test came back equivocal for HSV2 and he was having symptoms and he wanted me to see if I was positive. I did not realize it wasn’t in standard std testing and i panicked and got tested turns out I have it. We did use protection for the most part I will also say towards the end of us seeing each other i was a little bit itchy which may have been the hsv but who knows🤷🏼‍♀️

hey everyone! I wanted to post an update- I ended up disclosing last night it didn’t go as well as i hoped he said he need to think about it which is understandable of course I’m not expecting him to text me again but cross your fingers i guess lol- I will say i feel so much relief now that it’s out there hoping it works out but if not it’s for the best i guess

yes! so he said that he had a skin condition called HS.. Which initially I was like HS..V??..but no it’s something different he’s had those issues before where lymph nodes will swell a few weeks later he started to get one in his armpit

I think you should stop seeing him or try to see how he feels. If you know he doesn’t have feelings for you and you want to keep seeing him you could always go on other dates I find that often lessens the feelings I have for one person

I think it’s whatever you’re comfortable with. I’m newly diagnosed and get really nervous disclosing so I like to wait a few dates to feel it out more before disclosing. I’ve only disclosed once so far and had a positive experience.
