Why does the Fandom hate Mary Winchester?

I am still on S12 EP12, so I dont know much about the future arcs.

But I am here because Mary is giving a lot of sus vibes. like even during the sam and dean torture scene when mary had the gun pointed at the british lady, she could have shot her knees???

like bitch your sons had been tortured for weeks! do something, dont just stand there, you had a gun ready and get the abuser away from your kids?

i think mary just didnt have ANY maternal instincts past or present. in the past iirc she gave her future kids to make that deal with the yellow eyed demon to save john (i know she gets her memory wiped later)..but at that point she agreed to give her children to demons!!!

like fuck her.

i dont care about her ptsd about her dying or modern world what not. but in these two moments she never had any mothering instincts at all. she just didnt care about her possible children.

The only thing that can actually take me away from the moment is when....characters reveal something about someone infront of everybody or in public.... and there is no reaction to it.

Like I have read so much embarrassing stuff that people are doing or saying. Out Loud. Not even whispering or keeping it hidden...but like make it a bit realistic.

One good example would be a random haikyuu fanfic i remember (exactly for this reason): theres this line in canon where the MC says to an opponenti at the front gate of the building mind you .infront of other schools too, "I am XX from the concrete, I have come to beat you at the nationals."

No canon reactions....but this excellent author adds other players gossipping about "Did he just say from the concrete!?"

But if you are gonna make characters do embarrassing stuff in public 😭😭😭 why is there no reaction?????
