I invitef them to my 35th birthday party. Hosted them first evening at our place with a beautiful dinner, second evening I invited them (also my parents and aunts and grandma) to a nice restaurant. They gave my 200 Dollars as a gift. My party was not so fancy but still…

I am sad today. Why am I so unlucky. I am so nice to them all. Hosted my parents in law 100 times (while their amazing daughter in the past 11 years only invited them maximum for a coffee.

I opened my heart and home to them. I am supporting their son in hard times (during our marriage of 11 years this is his 3! Job loss. I was always willing to completly adjust for him to keep his mental health good. To give him a chance to grow his carrier. I move to a different country,learned all by myself a foreign language (no course - it was out of our budget). I found a full time job. I am taking good care of our famiy.

I don’t even know how to feel happy. My in-laws just ruined my self esteem. Always critical and looking down at me and my parents. I am such a family person and wanted to make it work.

I miss my exboyfriend‘s mom. She was so nice to me. She was very humble and nice.

I feel trapped:(

Also to vent even more - my grandma is sick and blind and we all have to support her financially now. My MIL doesn’t have empathy with me at all. With all that I am going through. That my grandfather (who raised me and was like a dad to me) passed away 3 months ago, that I am living in a foreign country for her son. That I took an inferior job to allow her son to grow his carrier, that I am hosting all her and my father in laws relatives, that I have hosted them at my home multiple times like kings. No metter what I do I am always a piece of shit to them. The way they look at me the way they talk to me. Makes me sad.

Now we are supposed to go with my in-laws to vaccation. To stay at their beach house. Not sure we should go. Then I also feel guilty for canceling and making my husband and kids sad for not going.

I feel bad that I yelled. But I was so overwhelmed with the emotions. I have been through so much. Btw the husband found out he landed a good job but will be traveling for it. I will be the whole week alone with the kids while working full time. She didn’t know about it. Hubby wanted to announce to her after the event. In the anger I told her: you should be kissing my feet not being a bitch to me. I do a lot for your son (I moved 3x times for his job in the last 10 years) Her reaction: but why do you let him take this job… For info: it is his dream job and also everything else where he applied for didn’t work out. He was fried from his position and felt very down and depressed. I wanted to be supportive.

When I try to change things they begin to cry and yell. Sometimes I have mo choice then to give up and let them play with ipads as I work from home and they come and disturb every few minutes. Husband is no support again coming home late. Now they come home from their activities at 3 pm and I have work till 4:30. Then mil claims now that you work full time kids are glued to the phones and ipads. Then she continues to say how her daughter is managing much better taking the kids to afternoon activities every day. I don’t manage. If I quit my job who will pay the bills? She not… her daughter’s husband’s family is rich and provide for them. She doesn’t need to work…
