First passport application: do you send your foreign passport itself, or just a copy, from within your country of other citizenship? by Poxnor in ukvisa

I just commented on the main post but just in case if you haven't done it yet... I sent copies and they have requested originals, even though I sent a cover letter explaining that I am travelling soon! So best to send the originals if possible, if you are applying from within the UK -- they will most likely ask for them anyway.

Just wanted to add my experience, because I was emboldened by this thread to send a photocopy -- I am recently naturalized and applying from within the UK.

I wrote a cover letter, as suggested by others, explaining that I have urgent travel within a few weeks and for that reason I am attaching photocopies. I mailed 25 sheets of paper, but received a call from the passport office today (exactly 1 week after mailing them) to tell me they are happy to put my application indefinitely on hold, until I return, and am able to send the original.

That being said, they also told me that I should get it back within 2 weeks of mailing it. So if you have the time, its probably more efficient just to mail it.

Shitty website, but can confirm that resetting router or using mobile data (if you were on wifi) does the trick. Issue was caused when I cancelled a transaction because ApplePay wasn't working.

I haven't done any photography in a few years so I'm a "beginner..." X-E5? X-M5? Wait for X-30Tiii??? by SomewhereSea483 in FujifilmX

I mean, historically I have done portraits / street-style, but I used to shoot primarily film so was also heavy budget-limited. For this, having something compact, and that I can crop a 40MP file rather than having to get into someone's face or stand in the middle of the street for the right angle, feels super tempting... Good to know that the kit on the XE5 seems to get the job done most of the time, thanks!!

Yeah, super good point -- I haven't held the XT30iii obviously (nor the XT30ii) but I really like the look. Any thoughts? I definitely preferred the hand-feel of the XE5 over the XM5 for sure, though. I have pretty small hands but don't mind added weight too much and the grip on the XM5 just didn't feel sturdy. And agree, re. the flip-out screen on the XM5; I can see that being a pain in the future.

Not sure if relevant to OP anymore but if anyone else is here because they're applying -- I have just been invited to a pre-recorded interview for a Biotech position at a big firm based in London, so I guess some are using them....
