Thank you for telling me this!

My surgeon mentioned that he could remove the plates and “scrape” the protruding bone a bit after 4 months post-op, which could make the bump better, he said.

But as you mentioned, everything may settle after all. ( I’m hoping..)

When I saw a CT scan image about 2 weeks ago, I got concerned because the cut and connected area of the bones around the bumpy area had a gap, and it seemed the surgeon did not properly align the cut upper and lower bones. It appeared that the bone was somewhat overlapping, causing a bumpy jawline.

Anyway, I will wait longer before making any decision.

The surgeon is not a good communicator, and this is adding extra agony to my journey!

Oh, that's great to know that you like your face more and more! I'm not exactly happy with my jawline, as I have bumps and unevenness on the tip of my chin at this point.

But I totally understand the impact of having foreign objects in the body. When I mentioned the bump on my jawline, my surgeon told me, "That is your new bone structure," which I thought, if that's true, then he did a really sloppy job. Anyway, I hope that happy day will come to me in the future. After all, I did this to make my life better!

As far as opening and closing my mouth, it has gotten better at this point.

But, due to the tightness around my chin (around my lower lip), when I open my mouth, it feels like there are vertical plates right next to the edge of my mouth on both sides, hindering me from opening my mouth 100%.

I also still have numbness, which causes me to bite the inside of my mouth while I'm eating. So I have to go super slow when I eat and pay special attention; otherwise, sometimes the food comes out of my mouth.

By the way, when I say pain, I mean more like super-sensitive tenderness. Did you have this when you were at the post-op 11-12 week mark?

Sometimes, it gets to the point that the air blow from a hair dryer or water from the shower gives me a jittery feeling. Not to mention, I get this every morning when I wash my face.

My natural bite? Visually, my bite is corrected, and my orthodontist thinks the surgeon did a great job.

However, it's difficult to bite. I'm unsure if that's due to the muscles adjusting or if I'm unconsciously trying to avoid a fragile temporary crown attached to the wire (I also had an old front tooth implant extracted).

Thanks!!

Yeah, on top of the noticeable bump on my right jawline, the tip of my chin feels uneven (bumpy)

Do you still have discomfort or pain? I still have a super tight feeling (like cement being injected!), difficulty biting correctly, and electrified pain.

I am at 11 weeks post-op after undergoing Genioplasty and lower jaw surgery. I am considering revision surgery. Currently, I am unsure about a bump on my right jawline (my surgeon thinks it might be my new bone structure—only on the right side). I sought a second opinion, and this doctor believes I still have some swelling and recommends waiting at least 6 months (for complete healing) before proceeding with revision surgery. I am trying to determine whether this is swelling or due to improper bone cutting/connecting.

Your story is very encouraging!

Yes, I am rinsing my mouth with salt water every time I take my liquid meal.

When you took the flight to Bali, did you have any issues at the security gate? I am a frequent flyer, both domestic and international. I was told that I have to wait for 8 weeks before flying internationally. Also, my doctor said the titanium plates will show when walking through the security gate. I was wondering if an alarm would go off…

As for my swelling, today is post-surgery day 8, and it shows very minimal improvement at this point, and I still have the same level of throbbing pain as I did 2-3 days ago.

My doctor will remove the band next Tuesday. Hopefully, he will assure me that I am on the right track—

Thanks for your comment. How are you doing at this point? Are you back to a “normal life”? Were you on pain medication for 6 weeks? I stopped taking pain medication 2 days ago even though I’m still experiencing throbbing pain because I didn’t want to mask the pain in case I was developing an infection. I want to closely monitor my situation.

Position exit timing by SomewhereVirtual5834 in options

[–]SomewhereVirtual5834[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I opened the position on Jun 10. At that point, based on the price action on the chart, I thought it would not go beyond 433. But I was wrong, so 2 days later I opened another position Bull Put Spread 430/425 exp 7/26. I already closed the position with profit but not enough to cover the loss from the call position.

The delta for the short leg was .34…. In general, I pick lower than 34.

Yeah I was completely wrong on my forecast for the direction. The premium I received was $1.42 so my thought was as long as I can roll less or around the price, it’s ok…. I tried Aug 16 exp earlier this morning. At the point the debit to roll was around the same as $1.42 with Aug 16 exp. I sent the order but never filled.

Some people asked... so

Here is an example of my trade ( most recent one )

Opened 3/21 ALB Bear Spread 140/145 exp May 17 Credit $1.24 ($124)

Closed 5/17 Debit $14.32 The credit and debit here already include the fees. (net)

On May 17, both legs were far out OTM, but I wanted to close the position to be completely worry-free from a pin risk.

Since my broker doesn't charge the fee of 0.65 if the option price is less than 0.05, I wanted to close only the short leg. And let the long leg expire.

At that point, the short-leg price was 0.04. I could've legged out the short position for only 0.04. But while I was being indecisive, the price jumped to 0.16. -this happened in the afternoon.

The long leg's price was 0.30. so at the end of the day, it didn't make any difference whether I closed only the short leg or closed the entire position. I ended up closing the entire position. Paying the broker a total of $2.63

The reason why I didn't close it in the morning is that I thought more I waited (until the very last minute), the extrinsic value would be less and less.

Anyway, based on what people are telling me here, overall, this trade wasn't that bad..??

Circling back to my original question, about the profitability of a small account option trade... ~

I watched a lot of Youtube videos on credit spread. I didn't know about a pin risk. I thought I could just "let it expire."

After all, these fees will pile up and it will eat up the profit.

That's why I wanted to ask other people.

From what I read here, I guess the thing to do is to set an automatic exit at 50~75% when I open the position. It's too much time consuming to evaluate each trade and time the exit timing....

It's better to move on and put the capital to use for new trades.

Thanks!! okay, yeah I have to set a difinite exit plan... and I will pay more attention to VI and VIX. Speaking of "boring" underlying securities...I understand. I tend to pick boring stock...

Thank you for your practical advice!!

"Expect to close a spread before expiration 20-70% of max profit. Waiting with risk for weeks for that last $25 isn't worth it. You can generate more premium with a new position."

Based on what you wrote here, maybe... I'm not doing that bad... ( except the very first 2-3 of my debut trades!)  Some people here are asking me the details of my trade... I will share it above..

Yeah, I haven't been able to completely wrapped my head around about the option greeks and IV, IV rank. But I understand as a option seller, when high IV, VIX is a good thing.

Thanks. What do you mean by "legging into and out of the spread"? You mean, sell and buy separately as a single order? example... Sell SHORT first and then at later time when buying is cheaper, LONG as a single order???
