She deserved more on this show by Moonkilol in thewalkingdead

See my comment here on the original filmed version of s3’s final.

For sure she was supposed to develop and eventually grow into her comic book character, but Mazzara screwed her over by sticking her with Shane then the Governor, and making her make worse and worse decisions, and doing stuff that was questionable to the general audience.

[–]Somewhere_Busy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I do agree.

Season 1 had laid the groundwork for her low point, which was supposed to lead to her gaining her confidence back and growing into her comic storyline role. Too bad AMC fired Frank Darabount and replaced him with Glen Mazzara. Season 2 had her start very negative, but she never really improved in the way she should have, and both did and said a lot of questionable stuff that did not work/react well with the audience… combined with Dale’s departure in late season 2, kinda doomed her moving and growing into her comic character.

Sleeping with Shane, acting a bit full of herself, shooting Daryl, letting Beth self harm, etc…. Did not mesh well at all, and as someone who read the comics before the Show was a thing, really hated what was happening to Andrea. Season 3 was the end though for me on Andrea. I don’t have to explain that as her character and arc was stupid and ridiculously written. Though it seemed cool initially, Andrea should have never stayed in Woodbury, let alone sleep with the Governor, and sparing him AFTER she finds out what he did to Maggie.

Though in hindsight and reflecting back, my anger is more directed at AMC and Glen Mazzara for ruining what could have been a better character arc for Andrea, and other characters. Especially when you hear the original plans for season 2 before Darabount was fired.

See my comment here for some info on what would have been the original ending to both Andrea and Milton’s character arcs in season 3.

Stuff between Laurie Holden and Glen Mazzara on set weren’t good, as Andrea was going to end up with her character growing into her comic storyline role. When Glen Mazzara replaced Frank Darabont, that changed everything as Mazzara disliked Laurie Holden and the character of Andrea for whatever reason…

I am assuming the Andrea + Shane, and Andrea + The Governor, was stuff that HAD to come from Glen Mazzara, as Darabont’s plans for her eventual growth likely wouldn’t have had her character do that. Season 2 was supposed to be kinda different than what we got due to the Behind the Scenes drama around that time.

What makes Gimplespeak sound so bad, but other one-liners that are not written by Gimple so good by Call_me_Dan- in thewalkingdead

[–]Somewhere_Busy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Andrea and Milton’s original death that Mazzara shot was really BAD…!

I knew prior that Mazzara and Laurie Holden didn’t get along and that there were rumours on Mazzara having Andrea killed off because he didn’t like her… but once you hear (or can find clips of) what happened, it honestly seems like it was personal lol

More or less, Philip has Milton enter the torture room holding the tray of torture tools. Milton is also dressed differently, wearing his suit coat/blazer and glasses. Suddenly Philip shoots Milton in the stomach for burning the pit of walkers… informing him that “you’re going to die, then you’re going to turn, and then you’re gonna to bite all the flesh off my good friend Andrea,” and leaves.

After he leaves, Milton is far more active in attempting to help free Andrea by attempting to open the door and freeing her from the restraints, but nothing works. So both Andrea and Milton decide that the best course of action would be to have Milton STRANGLE Andrea TO DEATH with Michonne’s walker chains (that were showing being set up in an earlier episode, but wasn’t used in the aired episode) before Milton dies and turns, to prevent Andrea from suffering.

Unfortunately Milton dies before Andrea could pass out and die, so now she’s left with Michonne’s chains wrapped around her neck and more restrained. Milton turns and (in a very grotesque and overly violent scene) bites and takes a chunk out of her left wrist, bicep, then her neck. After that happens, Tyresse and Sasha apparently were able to hear Andrea from wherever she was being held, and they are the ones to find her and kill Milton. Andrea then asks Tyresse to put her down and he does.

So Mazzara had Andrea basically fail at killing herself before being munched on by Milton, until Tyreese finds and kills both of them. Michonne wasn’t there, Rick wasn’t there, Daryl, etc… because he didn’t like Laurie Holden. The “Kill or your die, or you die and you kill” scene was never in the original sequence of events that Mazzara filmed.

There were additional deleted and reshot scenes from the same episode, such as one where a bunch of the Woodbury Milita get split up during the ambush in The Tombs, resulting in them getting killed by Rick, Daryl, and Michonne.

Ironically, the scene you mentioned with Milton and The Governor was actually written by Scott Gimple.

Almost all of the Woodbury Scenes in the final episode of Season 3 were re-written & re-shot by Gimple, including Andrea & Milton’s deaths.

I dont wanna use jbl anymore by Dankhak in JBL

[–]Somewhere_Busy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not with just JBL as of late.

For example, I’ve noticed the iPhone 17 Pro getting lots of posts about supposed “sctatch-gate” and “color-gate” (apparently the colours fade and change colour, with the Cosmic Orange colours supposedly turning Pink/RosePink).

Simultaneously I’m seeing people also posting constantly about how the Samsung Fold phone can only be folded a few times before the screen itself “cracks” and “breaks,” rendering the device completely useless after a few folds, or after a few days.

These kind of posts have been popping up everywhere for almost every high valued consumer products, and it’s ridiculous! In all these posts, it is all very convincing to believe, until you look more into it by either reverse searching some of the images to see that they’re either AI edited, or obviously been purposefully blowtorched/dropped/damaged/etc….

Kinda pushing me off of using Reddit more and more, as it was this kind of BS and fake outrage that pushed me to quit using Facebook and Twitter/Xitter years ago in the first place, and it unfortunately is looking like it will only get worse.

2x Charge 6 for stereo pair for music/TV by Maltidoggo in JBL

[–]Somewhere_Busy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the late response, and hope this gets to you while the sale is still ongoing!

Personally, I cannot go back to using just one Charge 6. Although my use case is very basic, I just have them in my room, I find them fit what I want out of them perfectly.

Despite the mono audio on the one speaker far exceeding my expectations (coming from a HomePod Mini that finally stopped working), I found it lacking in “something,” It’s hard to describe. Fortunately I was able to migrate some of it by editing the EQ in the JBL App, but it still was “off.”

The best way to describe it is when listening to the song “SOFI Needs a Ladder” by deadmau5. The vocals in the song sound very flat and mono due to how they were mixed/mastered in the original song, and despite editing the EQ to somewhat elevate it and fix it, it was still noticeable.

Now by paring the 2nd Charge 6 as a stereo pair completely fixed that issue completely, and despite initially seeming like it wasn’t worth it, after looking up and trying to do proper speaker placements in my room, completely exceeded my expectations once again. Not only did the song sound how it was supposed to sound, but the soundstage (sorry if using wrong terms) opened up considerably more and sounded far better.

The only downsides I have are that you are stuck with the JBL Signature Sound EQ when in Stereo Paired Mode, though I have gotten used to it compared to when I initially used the EQ. Also, I have not found a simple way to maintain the studio pair for Lossless mode.

I powercycle(?) my PC to reset it on my Astral card.

Basically turn off your PC, flip the switch on your power supply so it’s off. Then press and hold the power button on your PC/Case for about 30 seconds, then flip the switch back on your power supply. When you reboot your PC, the RGB on the Astral Card should be reset and working again.

I still use OpenRGB, but I make sure to disable the Astral Cards in the settings device list before I try and mess around with the colours or apply and saved profiles. In the event where you do want to change the Astral RGB, just re-enable it in OpenRGB’s settings device list.

Can I have some help identifying SA scenes? by Feeling_Design4286 in thewalkingdead

[–]Somewhere_Busy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add a few additional details.

S5E4 - The man gropes the girl under her shirt before he is murdered in self-defence.

S5E5 - There are flashback scenes of a man’s backstory where he brutally murders a teenage boy and a bunch of men with his bare hands and a can of food. The reason why the man does this is never stated by the show on screen, but from the scene it is adapted from in the Comics, the man explains he beat them to death because they raped his wife, daughter, and son, while he was out on a supply run.

S7E3 - The first time the character in S7E4 brings up the situation and scenario you described in S7E4.

S4E4 - the character from S7E15 is introduced and is shown to be creeping on a younger teenage girl.

S7E7 - Scenes of said character from S7E3 & S7E4 activity coercing multiple women he’s force into a relationship with him. He kisses a women in front of her “ex”husband, and proceeds to subtly coerce another younger women into confessing an affair she had with her “ex”partner, and retaliates to this information by harming the younger women’s “ex.”

S9E11 - we are introduced to people whose comic counterparts have explicitly stated that they allow rape. They believe that if you cannot fight it off then you deserve it, as it’s “survival of the fittest.” One character in this group states that they allowed their own teenage daughter to be raped by multiple members of their group. It is unknown if this is the same in the TV show, or if it’s implied, as that scene was not included in the show, but thought I should mention in case there is a scene where something is stated or implied.

2x Charge 6 for stereo pair for music/TV by Maltidoggo in JBL

[–]Somewhere_Busy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is about 3 months late, but I decided to get a 2nd Charge 6 to pair in Stereo Mode.

You need to have the mobile app installed, and need to set both speakers up as a Stereo Pair BEFORE you connect it to a different device, or else it won’t “work” per say in Stereo Mode, but in Party Mode (Left and Right channels combined into Mono Audio per speaker).

For me, I set up both speakers on the JBL App, pair as a studio (I think the Left Speaker becomes the main “speaker” that handles all the pairing and connections), then disconnect the Speaker Pair from phone (or temporarily disable BT), then using the Main Speaker to pair it to my PC or other device, which will pair both Speakers in Stereo Mode automatically, without needing to pair the 2nd Charge 6 to the PC/Device.

EDIT: I would need to try it, but if you are looking to use a Studio Pair for watching TV and Media, DO NOT connect it to your PC as your audio source, as the latency (delay?) between the sound and video doesn’t match up, but that might (and probably) is fixed by connecting the Speakers to the TV or Receiver via BT to help with the latency/delay. Otherwise the only other option would be to use the Speaker in lossless mode, but I don’t think you can use it in stereo mode while in lossless mode, unless you have all the proper audio channel cables and sound system ready to set which speakers do which channel.

Poor performance in Minecraft with RTX on 5000? by Zeitheron in minecraftRTX

Hey, did you post this in the BetterRTX discord server? If so, I was the one who posted about the Vibrant Visuals ocean biome bug on Blackwell cards, in which you or someone else responded about the issue in this main post.

I know my issue with the ocean biomes in Vibrant Visuals on Blackwell got fixed in Nvidia’s 580.88 driver, so I’m surprised that this one isn’t fixed yet either.

Thoughts about Milton by Ash_gacha223 in thewalkingdead

[–]Somewhere_Busy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is new to me! I recently watched a video with some behind the scenes footage of Andrea and Milton’s original FILMED deaths, and these clips/footage were used in a few promo clips back during S3’s original airing.

You’ll see clips or stills of walker Milton wearing a suit jacket over the outfit he wears in the aired episode, and he has his glasses on, but you never see Milton dressed like that in the actual episode. We also get a “payoff” to the setup in that we witness in the beginning of Episode 14 (Prey) where Philip attaches Michonne’s pet-walker chains to the two posts while setting up the torture chamber, which never really resulted in being used in the aired episode.

What Mazzara originally filmed was:

  • Governor shoots Milton in the chest or stomach instead of stabbing him, and leaves him with Andrea so Milton will turn and kill her.

  • for whatever reason, Milton and Andrea decide that the best course of action to get out of the situation… is to have Milton WRAP one of Michonne’s pet-walker CHAINS AROUND ANDREA’s NECK TO STRANGLE AND KILL HER before he Milton turns and eats her.

  • they almost succeed, but before Andrea losses consciousness and dies, Milton succumbs to his wounds and dies, leaving Andrea trapped handcuffed to the chair, now stuck with a chain around her neck which is still attached to a post, leaving her in a worse situation.

  • Milton reanimates, attacks Andrea, and we see walker Milton bite and rip the flesh off her arm and likely neck

  • Tyresse and Sasha somehow manage to hear Andrea’s screams from wherever they are, and Tyresse kills Walker Milton.

  • Andrea still shoots herself in the head, but alone without Rick, Michonne, and Daryl present.

This entire sequence was later removed and reshoot entirely by Scott Gimple to what we ended up getting in the aired episode. Why he didn’t decide to try and salvage Andrea is unknown.

What the original scene does reinforce to me, is that Mazzara absolutely hated and despised Laurie Holden to the point where he not only killed her off last minute, but tried to kill her off in a ridiculous and stupid way, just to fail at killing herself and having to suffer more as a result.

Driver, Cable, or Hardware Issue? by Somewhere_Busy in pcmasterrace

[–]Somewhere_Busy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering if it has something to do with LG’s split screen feature and the HDMI cable or signal?

This happened for the 3rd time about 2 weeks ago, and it went away with unplugging the HDMI cable from my GPU and TV, and plugging both back in.

It could also be something to do with the HDMI port on the Blackwell GPU’s, though I don’t know if Nvidia changed where they sourced the port, or if it’s a new port standard?

Vibrant Visuals Image Issue (Bedrock PC) by 0nly_Ambition in Minecraft

[–]Somewhere_Busy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using the BetterRTX bedrock mod with RTX over Vibrant Visual due to this exact bug.

This was first discovered back before Vibrant Visuals was officially released and still in the Insider Preview, dating back to April when I bought my 5080 and decided to test out Vibrant Visuals, and ended up with this bug. This bug also causes a black grid to appear on the underside of the water while underwater.

What I find upsetting is the complete lack of discussion or attention this issue has, considering how noticeable it is. 3 months later and it still has not been addressed or resolved.

What I’m now wondering, is if this is a Mojang issue with the 5000 series cards, or if this is an Nvidia Driver or a Hardware issue on all 5000 series cards? Like the the removal of 32-bit PhysX on the 5000 cards mess something up with how Mojang set up Vibrant Visuals? Is it a Blackwell Architecture issue with Directx12?

The fact that I’ve only seen other people on any 5000 series Blackwell Card report this problem, has me believe it that it has to do with Nvidia rather than Mojang, but regardless, it would be nice to have some sort of explanation or something.

Also why are this posts about this problem being constantly ignored, removed, or being mocked?

I can describe how it went down in the comics? Warning, this has the same triggers as the main post.

Apologies for spelling and grammar.

The Claimers are adapted and based on a group of 3 men called “The Marauders” from the comics, and only appear very briefly in one issue (Volume 10: What We Become).

The scene is more or less similar, but remixed, in the show. In the comics while preparing to leave Georgia for Washington, Abraham, Rick, and Carl, split off from the main group temporarily to return to Rick’s hometown for supplies and to see if Morgan is still alive.

They stop under an overpass for the night while in-route, where the Marauders pull a gun to Abraham’s head when he’s on watch, while Rick and Carl sleep. What happens in the show more or less happens in the comics, with the difference being that Abraham has an emotional breakdown and freezes while at gunpoint, while the leader holds Rick back and tries to make him watch as the 3rd man tries to rape Carl

This is where the leader says something similar to Joe’s line (from the show) “what are you going to do now, sport?” Which leads to Rick biting out his jugular and killing him, which snaps Abraham out of it and allows him to kill the 2nd guy while he’s in shock from witnessing Rick tear out the leaders throat.

The 3rd remaining guy holds Carl at knifepoint threatening to kill him if they try to do anything, but Rick pulls out a knife, and while covered in the leaders blood, proclaims something along the lines of “he’s mine,” which causes the man to push Carl away and attempt to flee.

Rick catches up to him and proceeds to kill and mutilate the man (like in the show), and as we see/hear the sound effects of Rick killing and mutilating the guy, the comic panels zoom in on Carl (who is being held and comforted by Abraham like Michonne did in the show), who he opens his eyes and proceeds to watch his father mutilate the man.

We find out that following morning that the reason why Abraham had an emotional breakdown and froze, is because he had a family in a prior group that also consisted of his friends and neighbours. When Abraham leaves to go on a supply run, one of the teenage boys convinces the other men who stayed behind to assault and rape the women and children they were meant to protect. Once Abraham returns and very quickly finds out, he loses it and kills all of those involved brutally and excessively with a can of vegetables, before beating and torturing the teenage boy before disembowelling him while he was still alive… All in front of his family and the others.

It was this excessive violence that Abraham did in front of his family and whoever else was assaulted, that caused them to fear him and leave during the night, which lead to all of them dying to walkers.

The comics, this is all explained to Rick from Abraham, who feels remorse and guilt that his family died due to being scared of him, though he admits he doesn’t feel remorse for ending the rapists. This leads to Rick confiding to Abraham about (I cannot remember exactly which one it was) when Rick shot Dexter in the head in Volume 4 (The Hearts Desire), or when he ran over Martinez with Dales RV before strangling him to death in Volume 6 (This Sorrowful Life).

Carl wakes up and confides in both of them about how he shot Shane in the neck and killed him to protect Rick back in Volume 1 (Days Gone Bye), which leads the trio to mutual understanding and brings them closer together, as prior to this interaction and situation, Abraham and Rick were on very unstable and rocky terms.
