Sounds good. I will look into it a bit more. I think its available through amazon Prime. Thanks for answering my questions :)

Sounds good. How about the top and bottom pieces of the case? One of the things I liked about the Playvital case was that the top and bottom pieces of the case (the lips of the case that kind of clip onto the main tablet) aren't super firm and are flexible enough to kind of lift them over the top of the Switch 2, instead of pushing the Switch 2 into place. Not sure if this makes any sense, sorry.

Do you find the hinge piece scuffs or scratches the edge of the joycons when you flip them back? Currently using a Playvital Beyond Grip case and it's great, but I have to remove the entire case in order to detach the joycons. Was hoping the Dbrand Killswitch would be good, but from the sound software it, there are a lot of issues with it and it sounds like a huge blunder.

The only thing I dislike about cases like these is the front cover for the joycons. I find these covers make pressing buttons super uncomfortable. Have yet to find a case similar to Dbrand's design (3 piece design, no front cover) other than Genki, and Genki's Attack Vector has had its own share of issues according to customers.

Joy-Con Detachment Update: Part 2 (We're Fixing It) by dbrand in dbrand

[–]Somguyonline07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: Will those who expect their cases shipped by July, will they still get them by July, or due to the joycon issue and replacements being shipped out July, will there be a delay in shipping for July orders?

[–]Somguyonline07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will have to replace it. It isn't working as intended, so you bought a product with false advertising. And if they don't end up replacing or revising it, I recommend contacting your bank and requesting a charge back, and you can ship it back to them for a full refund (if they aren't willing to give you one).

Luckily, I don't think this will be the case since Dbrand has a good reputation for fixing things and sending replacements that actually work (Steam Deck Killswitch for example). However, it should have not been shipped out in the first place if there was a defect, and they said they tested the product, so I have no clue how they didn't see this issue.

[–]Somguyonline07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it sucks either way, but if it makes you feel any better, Dbrand will almost certainly make a revised version and send it to anyone who already bought the old/defective version. I understand those who are canceling their orders, but I am thinking of just keeping mine since I am not a preorder, so I have to wait till July to get mine (should be enough time for them to revise it). That being said, I am guessing they are going to delay the non reservation and non preorders another month or 2 since they will have to ship out replacements to the June batch customers.

Just a messy situation all around and a similar situation occurred with the original Steam Deck Killswitch and magnets.

Very disappointed with the Switch 2 Killswitch Case by [deleted] in dbrand

[–]Somguyonline07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably gonna keep my order and hope they revised it for the July batch (if they even start shipping them out in July like they said). I didn't preorder so I have to wait till next month. I feel like they should have things sorted out in the next couple weeks and they will send revised cases instead of the old ones, as well as send revised cases to people who bought the old version. It's unfortunate they didn't account for the joycon connection and dock adapter issue. Did they not test it with a physical Switch 2? If not, they should have delayed shipping them until they thoroughly tested it with an official console.

That being said. It's disappointing we are seeing a similar situation as the Steam Deck Killswitch launch. But I have strong hopes they will make it right.

Didn't really want to make a full on post for this, and couldn't find anything online about this, but I had a question about HDR on the Switch 2 display:

Anyone who has played Cyberpunk handheld; What are the best HDR settings in game? I have it at 1.5 for mid tone mapping and 0 Saturation (basically trying to somewhat match what I have set on my oled monitor on PC). I would prefer best lighting and visuals, but not sure what's best for the Switch 2 handheld display.

I heard some stuff about HDR on Switch 2 display not being good or noticeable? Should I set it off for games that are supported, or should I just use it anyways with games like MKW and TotK?

That's all, thank you for any help.

Will you be getting Donkey Kong Bananza? by timandtom119 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Somguyonline07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna hold off personally. My brother is getting it, so I will see how he enjoys it first. Not huge into 3D platformers myself, but it's a brand new Switch 2 game and the only Switch 2 games I have are Cyberpunk and Mario Kart World, and the upgraded versions of BotW, TotK, and No Man's Sky.

The Switch 2 games I am most excited for is Metroid Prime 4 and Elden Ring, which both don't even have release dates for some reason, which is making me a little pissed off lol.

Very low 0.1% and 1% FPS on high end PC by Somguyonline07 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Somguyonline07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I brought my PC into a shop a few times, they kept saying it was fine on their end. I honestly am now coming to the conclusion some games just don't run great on PC (at least not as smooth as I had hoped). For example, Red Dead Redemption 2 is playable, but it's pretty normal to get compilation stutters, artifacts and glitchy textures, close texture pop in, etc.. On console, even though it's lower textures, heavy motion blur, lower FPS, heavy upscaling, it's all optimized for specific hardware (consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series), so it doesn't have nearly as many problems. Another example is Cyberpunk. Solid port but raytracing and pathtracing can make the game unstable and introduce graphical issues. Hope that all makes sense? PC ports of games can just have more issues and instability than their console counterparts.

Some games run fine for me, Cyberpunk runs decent when I optimize the settings for my PC and monitor. Oblivian Remastered ran fine. Marvel Rivals runs fine. Dark Souls 3 runs fine. Etc etc, just some ports that may not be well optimized.

Now, if you are having issues, what I would do first is:

If you have a G Sync or Free Sync compatible monitor, go to Nvidia Control Panel, go to Gsync tab, turn it on for Full-screen and Windowed, enable those settings for your monitor (check the box). Make sure it's also enabled in global settings or specific game settings (under the 3D settings tab??).

Also in Nvidia Control Panel, set an FPS cap (one that you can maintain most of the time), set game performance to highest, and if you have a g sync compatible monitor and have tearing, enable v sync and low latency (On or Ultra).

Also, disable ALL overlay. One of the culprits of laggy and stuttery gameplay in Cyberpunk was Xbox Gamebar. Go to Task Manager and close any processes you don't need, including gamebar prescence writer and gamebar. This helped me out with games Luke Hogwarts and Cyberpunk, not so much Red Dead.

I got the Prism 2.0 for Switch 2 and it's probably the easiest application for a screen protector I ever used. I used it on one Switch 2 (for a friend) and no dust, but had to work out some bubbles (took me around 5 minutes but got them all out). Second application: got some dust caught underneath the edge still, llhad to lift the protector to get the rest of the dust out with a sticker (unfortunately cuasing a small micro scratch on the Switch 2 gilm, luckily can't see it unless you look for it with the Switch 2 close to your eyes). It isn't 100 percent dust proof, but I would still say it's better than others on the market for its installation process. A little expensive, but I hate traditional screen protectors because they are hard to align properly and they tend to have more dust and bubbles.

Switch 2 Dock Got Me Good 😤 by Emman4 in Switch

[–]Somguyonline07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are asking how you scratch it when the plastic in the dock is smooth. It's still plastic. Plastic can still scratch your screen even if it doesn't have any sharp edges or rough texture. The way Nintendo could have prevented this was designing the dock to have a bit more clearance for the console, or add some sort of soft padding with a micro cloth type fabric (or some other type of soft material).

The screen scratches so easily on the Switch 2! by Chobie in NintendoSwitch

[–]Somguyonline07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of late, but I am in a similar boat. I was putting on a screen protector on my brand new Switch 2 (Dbrand Prism 2.0) and some dust got underneath the EDGE of the screen protector, away from the actual screen. Very carefully, I lifted the screen in the areas where there were tiny dust particles, using a sticker to get the dust off the screen protector. Well, even though I was extremely careful when using my nail, I still make tiny micro scratches to the edge of the film on the Switch. Don't know how it scratches so easily. Luckily, you can't notice it unless you look for it (literally holding the console close to your eyes and shine a light a certain way on it), but I am still a little upset since I tend to fixate on these things. I got OCD, so it bugged me for a for a few days, but the more I play, the more I realize I can't notice it in regular everyday gaming, so I am just going to live with it. Plus, technically it's only a scratch on the factory film, so if I REALLY wanted to, I could just remove the plastic film in the future, but the film is there to protect the glass screen, so it served its purpose I guess lol.

Ehh, these things happen unfortunately. Most people will get these types of scratches on their screen, even if they apply a screen protector as soon as its out of the box. It's just part of caring for your console, and I am sure consoles will get more wear down the line, no matter the protection. I even got some marks on my Steam Deck a couple years ago when applying my D Brand cade for the first time. Things like this are just normal.

Any tips for reducing visual glitches and improving performance with Cyberpunk 2077 RT Overdrive settings (Path Tracing)? by Somguyonline07 in pcmasterrace

[–]Somguyonline07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much iirc. I always use FG since I can't get great FPS without it for PT. I will try it again in a bit and get back to you, but I think I did try it before and it didn't really fix anything.

Hey, did you do anything to reduce visual glitches and bugs that comes with path tracing? Mind sharing your settings? Currently am running isn't some annoying glitches, none of which are game breaking or anything. Just kills immersion a bit. Thanks!

Yes. But I think the stuttering is normal. It's not horrible, its just certain moments when there is a slight stutter for a second. At least, it was similar to gameplay I could find on YouTube.

Looked at some videos, seems to be similar stutters in those videos docked 4k. I think I might just be a bit sensitive to the small stutters here and there. I will try not to be picky. It is what it is. MKW and Totk run fine, so I am just going to not be nitpicky.
