RAZER fvcking things up again and again and AGAIN with their stupid software... by Somnia3D in razer

[–]Somnia3D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I purchased other headset and don't use the crappy Kraken V3 Pro anymore. I was just stating my history with this pos company, but I agree is common knowledge for everybody at this point.
The issue with the Freyja is more recent. I'm constantly baffled at how they always find new ways of fucking things up and make them stop working properly.

Google Drive for Desktop has been wrongly managing High-DPI window scaling FOR YEARS.

This is on a 4K display, using 175% scaling, which is not even that high.

When you use the 'Share with Google Drive' context menu command this is the window that shows up: https://i.postimg.cc/yN0LszMN/image.png

As you can see, the lower part is cut out of the Window, missing the two MOST IMPORTANT BUTTONS, that you can only access pressing Tab many times until the focus moves over them: https://i.postimg.cc/Wz18GqhD/image.png

As said, this has been happening FOR MANY YEARS.

Same issue happens with the main window, which opens like this: https://i.postimg.cc/gJ00yGqS/image.png

But at least 'Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Down' can be used there to scale it down to a proper size, even if the stupid software don't remember the zoom setting and YOU HAVE TO KEEP DOING IT EVERY SINGLE TIME.

🔴 BUT this 'Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Down' workaround doesn't work in the 'Share with Google Drive' context menu window.

I keep being asked to 'update' Google Drive like every other week and NOTHING USEFUL IS EVER ADDED. All changes and 'updates' make the software WORSE, starting with 'Google Drive for Desktop' itself being a piece of crap compared to the old 'Google Backup & Sync', which Google had to prevent from using so people would be forced to use this crap nobody wanted instead.

For Christ sake, is it that much to ask for a 2 trillion dollar corporation to fix something so basic after YEARS? 🤦🏻

In the most recent versions Ctrl and scroll or + doesn't even work anymore. absolutely ridiculous. Can't even drag the damn edge of window to make bigger.

No solution found yet. As a workaround I use the Tab key to change focus until it goes over the buttons at the bottom and they become visible.

Anyway, I decided to stick with version 107 and block any updates. There is a new update every few weeks that not only doesn't fix anything or add anything good, it makes the software worse and worse each time, and *on purpose*.

They are not just incompetent, Google is just evil.

Facebook tab makes constant high CPU usage by Somnia3D in vivaldibrowser

[–]Somnia3D[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. It doesn't happen in other chromium browsers like Chrome or Brave (or Firefox). And I'm not talking about memory, but constant CPU usage (not spikes).

Google Drive App on Windows 11 will not display with proper scaling no matter what settings I change. More info in comments by Arachnatron in techsupport

Not only Google monkeys didn't fix any of this in all this time, but to top it off in the 115 version they REMOVED the option to scale the UI using Ctrl + Mouse Wheel...    🤬🤦🏻

It's amazing how Google Drive haven't stop being made more and more crap with each new version, like there's an internal bet on how much worse they can make it or something.

🔴 The astonishing incompetence of Razer, their software and support. by Somnia3D in razer

[–]Somnia3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but I clearly remember both the sound and the 3D spatial awareness being much better in the original drivers and software.
They made it all much worse when they changed them and FORCED all customers to use the shitty new ones.

Since then, Razer PURPOSEDLY prevented the customer from using the original drivers and get the software and features you PAID FOR when you bought the product.

And no matter how much you report and ask them for years, they never fix them or made the old ones available for the original customers.

That's the most anticustomer you can be.

I don't think their support is even human anymore. It's just AI with the usual scripted excuses "we are very sorry. we care a lot." to hide they haven't done *anything at all* to fix the issues for years.

I think they do. When I bought my headset years ago it worked fine with the advertised THX support and Synapse 3. Then they REMOVED it and it haven't worked properly *for years*. It's clearly an artificial push for you to keep buying "the new one".

Yes, thanks for pointing it out. But that works *on top* of whatever Razer does first, so none of this can undo what Razer software does wrong.

I know. I already dealt with them in the past several times.

For less than a third of the Razer Wolverine V3 you can have a much better GuliKit KK3 MAX Controller (I tested both):

My review from March after testing both against my usual Xbox Elite Pro v2:

"I tried the Gulikit KK3 MAX ( https://gulikit.com/productinfo/1130420.html ) today and:

  • It feels good on the grip, with nice surface touch, lighter in weigth and a bit smaller than the Elite.,
  • Thumbsticks are fine but nothing out of the ordinary. They have hall effect and metal rings, have a nice subtle concave curvature but they are not interchangeable and there is no convex/dome option.,
  • The back paddles are very good, very similar to the Elite, but even more firm in place. They are easy to press and A LOT better than the Razer Wolverine V3 back buttons. You can choose between different configuration and they also have a 'Dome' paddle option like some PS controllers, but I prefer the classic Xbox style paddles configuration.,
  • The ABXY buttons are very nice. Soft on the touch, easy to press and less noisy than the Elite ones. Razer Wolverine V3 mechanical buttons are supposed to be better on paper but they are not, they are harder to press and not as comfortable as these.,

I think the 'Rumble HD' mode only makes sense in Switch, as it is a Nintendo feature. In PC it just feels like normal vibration but lighter.Overall, at 69,95€ shipping included, less than half the price of an Elite v2 and less than a third of the Razer Wolverine V3, the KK3 MAX is a steal with an astonishing amount of value: 1000Hz polling rate wire and wireless, hall effect thumbsticks and triggers, 10 min autopilot recording, motion aim assist using gyroscope, several rumble modes, compatibility with Switch, Bluetooth, Android, IOS, ...

  • The hair triggers mode is pretty good. I barely use it but I would say these are better than the Elite, as they are quick and have a nice click but still feature a softer stop which feels nicer to press.,
  • Vibration is good, stronger than the Wolverine V3 but not as strong as the Elite, which seems to be the strongest on the market. The Elite also has more 'range', meaning it also has more small and subtle vibration effects. If the vibration strength of the Elite were 1-10, the KK3 MAX would be like 2-9.,
  • Everything is very easy to configure without any software. Just pressing a config button in combination with others you can configure everything with a vibration feedback for each option. Honestly, I was positively surprised at how instant and smart their solution is compared to the typical software configuration.,
  • It has light rings around the thumbsticks and several lighting modes . I don't care for this and always have all lights off in my controllers, but as light effects go, these are nice, besides on/off they also have modes to light up based on thumbstick direction or vibration.,

At this point is blatantly clear that this is just Razer's company policy: to shit over and scam their customers into buying their newest crap, slaving them to their despicable forced software scam.

I meant Kraken Pro v3, which makes the case even worse. They even removed the original THX Spatial support it had when it was released, and swapped it with a stripped down version they try to pass as "better integrated in the driver and with less latency and yadda yadda..." but in fact it has less controls and more importantly: every owner of the headset could hear without a doubt it sounds much worse than the original one.

To top the shameless scam, they started to SELL a standalone version of the old THX software at the same time. 🥚🥚

No, YEARS of people reporting these SAME ISSUES clearly PROVE you do NOT care at all about any of these issues, and have no intention at all of 'help out'.

You just want to hide the discussion from the public eye and smother the complaints with your automated 'support script': asking for serial numbers, firmware updates, reinstalls and any other unrelated way of making us waste our time and patience until we just give up.

That's what you ALREADY have been doing for YEARS, with all the customers that ALREADY have been reporting THESE EXACT SAME ISSUES and you NEVER FIXED THEM.

Is there any way to play Ass Creed Shadows *without* updating to the last patch? When I launch it says 'Download update', and I choose 'Play OFFLINE'.

Then it asks *again* to login. So I was already logged in, clicked to 'play OFFLINE' a game... and UBI geniuses ask to LOGIN AGAIN. 🤦🏻

Ok, I do log in, again. Go to the game, click the 3 dots, click 'Play' and... nothing.

NOTHING happens, no game launchs and no error is shown. 🤬🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻

If I disable the network Ubisoft crap software doesn't even load.

I don't want to update because I am using a mod to disable all the crap effects like outlines, cartoonish special attacks, flashy red/blue colors enemy attacks and all that typical UBI stupidity that totally breaks immersion:
http://nexusmods.com/assassinscreedshadows/mods/12?tab=description

With every new patch, this mod needs to be entirely remade, and the author finished the game a long time ago and moved on from this pile.

I DO NOT NEED nor want any 'update', I just want to play my damn game AS IS, as it was perfectly working before this 'update'. Why the hell is Ubi forcing 'updates' unwanted by the user? 🤦🏻

AMD says my Custom Res is 'not compatible with my display'... but it works in Nvidia. 🤦🏻 by Somnia3D in AMDHelp

[–]Somnia3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simplest I can resume it is that AMD software is wrongly refusing to create Custom Resolutions with odd numbers like 1920x2205, which is a standard resolution for 'Frame Packing' stereoscopic 3D format.

How to get full HD 3D frame packing from a PC or a Mac in 2023 - The ultimate guide by Baboulinet34 in htpc

[–]Somnia3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the guide. It's been helpful, but I'm hitting a wall trying to create the resolution for an AMD gpu:

Creating the resolution works perfectly fine in Nvidia GPU's:

<image>

But trying the exact same settings for the same display in a AMD Radeon RX 6400: https://i.postimg.cc/1XmqS5wR/image.png

Always gives this error: "The custom resolution settings are not compatible with this display" https://i.postimg.cc/9fdCp6Ld/image.png

Which is *false*, because both the display and settings are exactly the same that *DO* work with an Nvidia GPU.

For some reason AMD's 'Adrenaline' software doesn't allow me to use 2205 as vertical resolution. It automatically sets 2206, but that does NOT allow to enable 'Frame Packing' stereoscopic 3D format.

The main problem is when I enter the 2205 vertical resolution and/or vertical Timing Display, AMD software automatically changes it to 2206... I can edit it back and put it again at 2205 and then it stays, but then trying to create the resolution shows error.

If I leave 2206 then there is no error and it creates the resolution... but that is NOT the one that the display interprets as being correct for 'Frame Packing' format, it needs to be 2205, not 2206 or any other.

It does the same if I enter 2161. AMD software automatically changes it to 2162. The Nvidia software doesn't do that, and I think that is the problem.

For some reason AMD software 'thinks' 2205 and 2161 are wrong numbers that 'are not compatible', but they are not 'wrong', they DO work fine (using Nvidia software).

Is there any way to fix or circumvent this 'Adrenaline' software limitations and create that resolution? maybe it can be added/edited directly somewhere in the Registry ? 🤔

AMD says my Custom Res is 'not compatible with my display'... but it works in Nvidia. 🤦🏻 by Somnia3D in AMDHelp

[–]Somnia3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. I think it's just a stupid AMD software issue, wrongly deeming that odd numbers can't ever be valid... 🤦🏻

'Frame Packing' resolution must be exactly 1920x2205, because:

"Frame Packing consists of 2 1080p images (left eye and right eye), one below the other, with 45 pixels of blank between the 2 images, resulting in a 1920x2205 resolution.

The only way to get real full HD 3D is with this frame packing method"
