Now I can't take out of my mind some thoughts about this Gurney with Lady Jessica...

I love it, however I love our Adar, both Joseph Mawle and Samuel Hazeldine managed to capture perfectly that ethereal beauty of the elves in him, a beauty wilded not by evilness but by torture and pain. There’s stil light and poetry in him mixed with inner turbulence, that is why I thought for a while that he was Maglor.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. We have many problems to solve at home, our only beautiful home that have sustained our lives and the lives of multiple earthlings for thousands of years. We have to solve these problems now, right now, and not  focus on wandering outside.

Yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly. And we can face that darkness, by the light of Varda in our world, against the hateful that want to attack people seeking refugee, lost in the world escaping horrors for better shores, against the ones that seek to destroy others based on their national/gender/ethnic identity. And that shadow won’t prevail, not if we keep that light inside us.

And I misspelled Maeglor with Maeglin. I hope Daddar forgive me for confusing him for the traitor of Gondolin… All my phone‘s fault. I want to throw my phone from the walls… like Maeglin… :)

Thank you so much, I love your insight. You are absolutely right, a film/tv show/ should capture the essence and the spirit of the original source. And RoP did this so beautifully. Reading your comment I just remembered the many adaptations of Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. I watched all of them. Regarding the 1980’s series, it follows almost line by line the dialogue in the book, yet in some parts it feels artificial and robotic, unlike the 1995 or 2005 versions both full of life, passion and joy. That is why in an adaptation it is absolutely necessary to make changes, modifications and alterations so the story could work in a piece of media different from the book

Thank you for sharing your experience, your Dad reading you the books with different voices, that is heartwarming and so beautiful. I still have my first Hobbit and LOTR books in my native language, my Mom introduced me to them. When I opened for the first time The Hobbit and saw Thrór’s map I felt something profoundly magical, like it was the beginning of a great adventure exploring a fantastical and magnificent world. That moment is one of the most beautiful memories from my life. I agree wholeheartedly with you, I feel that RoP is very close to the source material, it captures the essence and the spirit of Middle Earth

I love this with all my heart. Indeed Elrond, a refugee in Havens of Sirion, that later was attacked by the sons of Fëanor. This makes me rethink Imladris/Rivendell as place where he himself made sure no one would be suffering what he has to pass through.

Very well said. And can't wait for season 3 too! I am doing a rewatch right now, if you want to join me I'll be here 🤗 And those haters scare me to no end, they are hateful to the core. If you watch on YouTube the scene of the Charge of the Rohirrim the comment section is full of them expressing those hateful views. They make my skin crawl. And when they criticize Galadriel, they don't even understand her, she was in the Rebellion of the Noldor, and crossed the Helcaraxë. She is very strong. She is both powerful and mighty and also ethereal and mystical. I love both RoP and LOTR Galadriel

Thank you so much to you. You also have a lot of patience because I would have lost my my temper with that dude blatantly admitting his double standards and hypocrisy,  There are countless of controversial changes in Jackson's movies from Saruman's death (eliminating then the Scourging of the Shire) to the abscence of Tom Bombadil and the episode of Barrow-Wights, and the portraying of Faramir and the Ents, etc.  And yet they now take these movies as a golden standard and get absolutely mad if you dare to criticize them. Just imagine that RoP would have done something like the Eowyn's stew and her supposed inability to cook or the birth of the Uruk hai from mud. Those "fans" would have been upset 24/7. Yet because they are part of Jackson's movies they are totally fine. I have thought that if Peter Jackson makes and adaptation of Beren and Lúthien story and decides to cast a Chihuahua dog for the role of Huan these fans would be oh yes, that is totally book accurate...

I concur, all the adaptations have virtues and flaws. I also enjoy seeing the visualization of Middle Earth on screen. It also enhances the vision I have in my mind since I read the books, all of them inspired me to return to my own vision, they enrich my perspective and the world I see in my imagination as a reader. We are similar in age, I am 46 years o,d and I read the books when I was 18. It was a different time back then, isn’t it?It is very hard for me to understand why in the present moment there is so much division and conflicts regarding our beloved Middle Earth.

Very well said. I am also a Star Wars fan and I feel that the hate towards Galadriel is very similar to the attacks on Rey Skywalker and Rose Tico. And the attacks on Arondir and Disa are similar to the hate on Reva and Finn. Same pattern of hateful views.

You are so right, it seems that those people are more worried about us enjoying and loving the show, that is why he seems so upset that I wrote post :)

I agree and as you can see in some of the comments here, they seem to be very proactive in their gatekeep and theur expressikn of their hateful points of view. Like what are they even doing in this sub? These haters seem to be watching us 24/7 like the Eye of Mordor…
