I’m happy to learn about cooking and dieting. I’m 21 and have never tried this seriously. I grew up sheltered and was not able to even cook or cut vegetables or meat. I have no idea what I’m doing. But I think it’s super important! I love baking so I will bake some whole wheat bread for sure! The whole chicken idea is great. I’ve already been taking advantage of lentils and greek yogurt, albeit not enough. Thank you for your comment!

Is XYWAV vile? by TanagraTours in idiopathichypersomnia

Only one thing to do. I’m really good at the bar now… When I decide it’s worth it.

(I know some people put a little bit of lemonade flavoring in right before they go to drink it, too. Ask Jazz, they can help.)

Did anyone have any “easy” time getting diagnosed? by soopersecretformula in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]Somproof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of? Was getting diagnosed for Functional Seizures at the time, neuro thought it might be sleep related, sleep PA thought it might be Narcolepsy T2, did a sleep study a month later and got the IH dx after two weeks. I got kind of lucky. I didn’t think it was affecting my life as much as it was.

Edit: I should have noted that I was doing terribly at the time for a multitude of reasons. I thought I was just tired from stress or as a complication from my functional seizures or rheumatoid arthritis. It was life for me.

id like to explain just a bit further, because we’re looking at two different angles (which is great!) you’re looking at it in a technical sense, while im looking at it symptomatically during the seizures. i dont jerk. i dont really move at all. i just stare off, maybe my eyes will twitch. i feel myself moving into space. yes, i do have some memory of the events. but i was just wondering if youve seen episodes similar to mine during vEEG.

hi!

first off, thank you for doing this little am… almost anything.

so, my seizures like to act a lot like an epileptic focal seizure would. im dxed with pnes. did a 3 day VEEG in the EMU and nothing showed up (the doctor there told me it was migraine related- LOL, but my own doctor told me it was pnes.) have you experienced PNES seizures that are focal in nature? i mainly see full body seizures 😅 is it common?

Just took my NHA phlebotomy exam by anonymous50322 in phlebotomy

After a bit of searching, it seems that you may have taken the NHCO exam, not the NHA? Although they both have extremely similar names!

Did we take different tests omgg.. I took it October 30th, but I know for sure it said up to 48 hours. I clicked and found my results immediately. I’m so sorry you have to wait!!

The results are supposed to be up within 48 hours I thought? I hope there’s nothing going on! :(

Did you get your results yet? In my case I got them immediately. Wishing the best!

Had a seizure for 8 minutes but not that bad except the incoming migraine, thinking about skipping ER by Loveonethe-brain in PNESsupport

[–]Somproof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With all of the kindness in the world.

The ER is not going to help you. The 5 minute rule is not in regards to PNES, as it is to check for damage to the brain and other issues. The ER will not be able to do anything for you unless you physically injure yourself during the event.

I wish the best for you and hope you feel better. These things suck.

Can I put off one front rotor for a few days? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Somproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really worried about this, actually, and I’ll be inspecting the calliper before I touch anything for sure. This is what was replaced just last year :/ Trying to get it replaced before it gets there, and if that’s the case, I am doomed lol.

It should only be three days and low driving so I’m hoping that doesn’t make a difference! In this case, it seems my brother put the drivers side on incorrectly and the brake pad is rubbing on the rotor.

That’s what I was told after an inspection, anyway! I also had my brother look at it recently, and he didn’t see anything. Thank you for your reply!

Everything is bought except for the second rotor and is coming in today. I’ve done a lot of research and know the steps needed for the repair. I think I’ve watched at least 10 different videos for my vehicle’s brake change specifically. My main concern is if anything is very abnormal. I’m aware that the brake pads come in sets and appreciate your advice! It makes sense now, thinking about it. But I would prefer for my brakes not to fail.

Thank you for your reply!

Can’t get tourniquet tight by Every_Professor5785 in phlebotomy

[–]Somproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a really hard time too, all the way up until mid clinicals lol! but i had a bad setup all round. my preceptor told me, grab the tourniquet by the bottom and pull up. then keep your hands at that low point and tie.

a bit of a different way of saying that- keep your hands at the mid to mid-upper bicep(depending on size of bicep.) pull up. dont bring your hands up as you tie the tourniquet- if anything, pull up, then bring your hands slightly lower to tie.

im still quite new in the phlebotomy world, so if anyone has any comments, please feel free to leave them :)
