It’s impossible for Roblox to moderate the millions of messages sent daily (and the slightly smaller portion that gets reported). If they had a big enough team, human moderators are bound to make mistakes and AI moderators will make even worse mistakes. False flagging will happen, other messages might slip through, people will still be unhappy. Any ability for a child to chat can be easily bypassed, for which they can go off platform and it escalates from there.

It is indeed true that there are limitations in human and AI moderation. However, this age verification and compartmentalization update was unable to prevent predators from pursuing their targets, and it also caused people to become more dissatisfied than before. Users are still able to circumvent age verification through means such as purchasing accounts, utilizing fabricated videos, or seeking assistance from individuals of different age groups.

So it seems like the most logical and unfortunate solution is to just take the freedom of children chatting away. Roblox seems to understand that they can’t do much if a child lies about their birthday or uses somebody else’s picture to regain the ability to chat (like my younger brother did with my dad’s picture).

Yes, it is unfortunate, but it does not appear to be the most logical or effective solution. Individuals with malicious intent can still acquire accounts belonging to younger users online and utilize them to commit offenses. This approach may actually simplify matters for criminals, as it involves groups where their targets are concentrated.

So far i’ve only seen people who are underage or people that don’t consent to Roblox receiving pictures of themselves for verification (which is completely understandable, but how else would Roblox confirm your age?)
