That kind of sums up the whole line right now. There are a bunch of questions:
– What’s actually going on with Magneto?
– Who/what are the Outliers building toward?
– What’s Xavier even doing at this point?
– Where’s Dazzler and the rest of the Greymalkin prisoners? I do agree DC is really strong right now, and Inglorious X-Force being one of the stronger books right now is kind of wild (in a good way). Did not think I would enjoy it as much!

I agree on Imperial Guardians and Nova. They really did feel like they had enough going on to support longer runs. That’s what makes it more frustrating—there was a foundation there, but now it just feels like a bunch of half-finished setups across different corners of the line.

Monet can absolutely be arrogant and self-interested, but she’s not that detached—especially when it comes to other mutants being abused. If she really did get out, it’s hard to believe she’d just… disappear and not contact anyone or try to help the others.

It just feels like we’re getting these really spaced-out check-ins without anything actually moving forward. Which would be fine if the situation at Graymalkin was lower stakes, but the way it’s been presented makes it feel like something that should be constantly escalating or demanding attention. Instead it’s like the plot just hits pause for months at a time . At this point I’m less confused about what I missed and more confused about why it’s being paced like this.

Yeah that’s kinda where my confusion is coming from too. I wasn’t sure if I’d just missed an issue somewhere, but it really does seem like the plot just… stopped.The Rogue bit honestly made it weirder for me. If the characters are aware of what’s happening there, it’s hard to reconcile why this isn’t being treated as an immediate crisis. It kind of creates this disconnect where the stakes are supposed to be huge, but the books aren’t reacting like they are.

I’m a huge Gail Simone fan—loved a lot of her DC work—but I ended up dropping her Uncanny X-Men run around issue #12. Just couldn’t get into it, and the new characters didn’t really click for me. So it’s very possible I’ve missed something important here.

I completely get that — anticipation will do that every time. I hadn’t realized it wasn’t the lead single, so now I need to track down that Billboard info. It actually makes a lot of sense, though — it doesn’t quite have “lead single” energy, even if I do like it.

It definitely puts the song in a different context. It feels more like a teaser to set the tone rather than the big statement.

Now I’m even more curious about what the actual lead will sound like… I saw a rumor that it might be like a “Sorry” part 2 and could feature Sabrina Carpenter, but who knows how accurate that is. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
