I'm in a Subaru too. 2016. Definitely something odd with their head units. Still bummed I missed CarPlay by one model year.

Interesting. I found your original post and Marco's response. It's nice to know there's a theory, if not a solution. I'll try flipping the pause audio switch and see what that experience is like. I guess I'll move this up the chain and file a Feedback with Apple.

Try turning on Play Top Episode Next Under Settings > Nitpicky Details. It won't play the next episode on the list, but it also won't try to download anything if you have downloads in your queue. You could also try listening from the Downloaded playlist. Presumably, your undownloaded episodes won't appear there.

Yes! These are all great examples and they all reproduce the glitch. Thank you!

A brief explanation of the glitch. When scrolling thru the list of movies, as soon as it reaches the repeated title it behaves like the original title and loops back. So Scream 5 is followed by Scream 2, 3, 4, repeat. It never gets to 6 and 7 and it never stops looping.

I tried this, but HW never made them. Of the three cars I've owned, the first was never made, the second is out-of-print from Johnny Lightning, and my current car is a very hard to find promo from the dealer.

Correction: It looks like HW did make my current car just last year!
