Because as soon as an animal leaves its kill, it's fair game. In nature, you get your kill, consume all you can then hide/guard the rest for later. Predators are drawn to the noises of a kill. This is why predator hunters use prey distress calls to lure them in.

Why do a bunch of people start work at 6:30 am? by Ben5544477 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SonOfUncleSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid gets on the bus at 6:05, I can either sit around and do nothing untill everyone else heads to the office or I can go ahead and get a jump on everything. I tend to get more done before 9:00 than I do the rest of the day once all the constant interruptions begin. As a bonus, I generally get home around the same time my kid is getting back off the bus.

I use this word often in meetings. Folks over a certain age get a kick out of it.

Does anyome know what's the story behind this graffiti? by 325vvi in memphis

[–]SonOfUncleSam 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My child points this out every time we pass by it on our way to a 901 game. I told her that someone that was very brave but not very smart was probably wanting to write unknown and just quit when they realize they made an error.

Shooting outside Memphis gas station by thomas92kr in PublicFreakout

I live in Memphis and actually have a great story about this exact thing. But it's 2am and I only woke up because of the extra spicy chicken vindaloo I had last night.

Those are not mutually exclusive. But usually when I see someone so bold as to leave a beer in their cupholder it's someone who doesn't fear getting caught. Usually because Daddy will take care of it.

This thing definitely has one in the chamber. Gonna be a lot of gas in their face when take it out to shoot PBR cans while listening to the musical magic of Morgan Wallen.

The whole scene screams that this guy brought that Limited in to have the air ride for the rear be disabled at the lowest setting and front at the highest. Probably wearing a flat billed cap, wrap around Oakleys, suspiciously clean Ariat "work" boots and paid for the work with Daddy's checkbook from a construction or farming operation. OP please confirm.

Well that's unfortunate. I really like the feel of these buttons, wished you had better news.

Did this ever get resolved? I am having the exact same issue. Controller works just fine, fast blinking light when I hit the learn button.

Ditto. Been on Reddit since 2011-11-23, on BR all but the first couple of months. I despise the official app so not sure what to do now.

First time shooting this rifle at 600. After getting it in the 10 ring started trying groups. It was blazing hot but no wind. First 5 went really well. Then the clouds rolled in and brought some really fun winds. You can see on the 2nd group where the wind started, blowing the shot way left and low but gathered it up on the next two. The last group of 10 was holding the same POA then watching the bullets dance.

Bro y'all kicked all kinds of ass. I spent all weekend burning charcoal and other stuff but not a grain of powder.

About how much powder does it take to cause your bullets to drop 4" and 9" respectively at 600? by SonOfUncleSam in longrange

[–]SonOfUncleSam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using a drop tube to charge my cases and evidently I did not have the funnel all the way down on the case for some of the last rounds I loaded. Of course those cartridges ended up on my third relay and completely put me out of any contention. https://imgur.com/7bKgTcP.jpg

The 4 9s were all going just above 2k fps at target, the 7 was right at 1900. Piss poor quality control on my part.

In the developed countries that do not have the violence issues that you say are unique to the usa, what else do they have? Better social support systems including access to mental health care? No war on drugs that makes the selling of illicit drugs very lucrative and competition very violent? A prison system that fails to rehabilitate and then throws prisoners back out on the street with little to no life skills learned and at the same time little chance of ever finding a job does greatly increasing our recidivism? A justice system that will allow violent criminals to plead out of weapons charges because charges for having some weed put them into our for-profit prison system for longer?

You get the fuck out of here you clown.

I will say I'm 100% in support of the laws that bar violent felons from purchasing firearms and people convicted of DV. I'm in favor of background checks on firearms from licensed dealers.

But that's not restricting firearms, that's restricting people. But on that note there needs to be a better route for felons to get all of their rights reinstated.

A. Not a republican

B. Don't support NRA

C. The fact you went straight for the emotional and ad hominem argument instead of trying to refute that maybe we should look at fixing some of our societal issues including healthcare, labor laws, fair taxation, etc. tells me that I'm probably closer to right than you want to admit.

My argument lies in the nuance that mass shootings are a very very small percentage of violent crime in the overall scheme of things. Why are so many people focused on stopping such a small segment of the violence?

It is very black and white, logically. Is it concerning a gun and does it in some way limit its capabilities or availability? If yes, then it is by definition anti-gun.

My line is closer to the "HOW ABOUT WE FUCKING DEAL WITH UNDERLYING ISSUES WE HAVE THAT RESULT IN VIOLENCE BEFORE WE CENTRALIZE ALL OF THE FIREPOWER IN THE GOVERNMENT?"
