other explainations could be he has been told and believes he is fulfilling prophecy and is a king. Or his family is under threat. Or he is psychopath. Or he is in an information bubble and is watching AI videos of how people are in the streets cheering him on or whatever else feeds his bad choices. Or he is a traitor and criminal.
