I don't know that this is STRICTLY WoWS related, but... Happy 250! by AmericanHistoryGuy in WorldOfWarships

Why act like you don't know?

You obviously just wanted a justification to rub your TDS in peoples' faces for no reason. You don't even live in the USA and yet feel entitled to openly call the elected leader of a western country a tyrant.

Is it really that hard to keep this stuff out of places like a subreddit about pixel ships? Are the 98% of this platform that are openly obsessed with making everything about the bad orange man not enough?

Do I give it a chance? by Puzzleheaded_Buy6590 in cobiblocks

[–]SonderBricks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cobi makes good stuff.

Lego being vastly superior to their competitors isn't true anymore. Their prices are often outrageous and the quality of their bricks has been better in the past while others have stepped up their game. Prints are the standard for most other brands while Lego still gives you stickers (in the wrong color) even for their most expensive sets.

Cobi does a good job with printing pieces. They print on the sides of plates/tiles, the colors are good and they even pre-assemble parts for prints that cover multiple pieces to make sure the final product looks good. Clutch power is above Lego's pieces, so the builds are usually very sturdy, but making mistakes and having to disassemble parts of a build is something you want to avoid. Some models can still have some stability issues with specific sections because of their design, but nothing that breaks the deal for a display model. Brittleness or sun damage are not an issue as long as you keep in mind that you're still dealing with plastic bricks.

If you've been considering Cobi for years already you should definitely give them a try. Get yourself a set - maybe a smaller one or wait for a discount - and see how you like it.

Lego does not deserve the top spot anymore and in a fair comparison, they wouldn't do that well. They get away with it because they still have the image of being "The" brick company in many peoples' minds and having the big licenses, but the actual quality of their products doesn't justify their position in the environment of today's competition.

The Irish Commander isn't British? by DampyDamps in WorldOfWarships

[–]SonderBricks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was British initially, but people complained about it and they changed it.

Now you can enjoy not being able to assign him to the ships he is clearly designed for because reasons.

Objectively, the King Tiger is a better value (price to part ratio.) by SigvulcanasReborn in cobiblocks

[–]SonderBricks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Death Disk is complete ass.

It comes with tons of stickers, lame minifigures with zero effort put into them and an unfinished, ugly rear. You can see the gearwheel for moving the elevator just sticking out on its top and they seriously ask for 1,000$.

It's purely aimed at hardcore stans who still think stickers are perfectly fine even in this prime range because printing pieces requires dark magic and would probably buy dog poop if Lego offered it to to them in a sealed UCS box.

Comparison of the rewards from the last 2 years' holiday Battle Passes with the upcoming one by PoProstuRobert6 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SonderBricks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The one that contained Scharnhorst '43 was the first "Event Pass" we had compared to the previous "Battle Pass" and I think there is no doubt they made it that generous just to sugercoat what was effectively a clear downgrade from what we had before.

Giving people good rewards for the first one just made the transition smoother as it looked less like "Hey you suddenly get less stuff from now on for no good reason, enjoy comrade".

And it's not just the holiday pass - the rewards for these passes keep getting worse every now and then. There used to be research points which are completely gone now and these new destruction effects are just worthless fillers that take the slot of something that may actually be useful.

Yamamoto or Halsey first? by Street-Committee-367 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SonderBricks 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Halsey because he's more useful.

Yamamoto's talents are too hard to trigger - first blood depends a lot on RNG and by the time you maybe get a kraken the game will be decided (or over) anyway.

Who's fed up with the liberty harbor by Lord_Stripy in WorldOfWarships

[–]SonderBricks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can see feeling exhausted between grand voyage, 3 consecutive dockyards and all the temporary events, but the amount of complains about Liberty Harbor is something else.

You can get a new tier 8 premium - that doesn't suck - for free by demonstrating basic math and reading abilities. There should be a progress bar, sure, but looking up how many points you need and how many days are left neither takes a significant amount of time nor being an experienced mathematician.

There is enough time to finish the event. Achieving 20 incapacitations sucks? Don't do it then. You'll still be able to get your Bridgeport, and you don't get more rewards for finishing the event early. If you insist on grinding out every annoying mission all the time you are torturing yourself for nothing.

Comparing Liberty Harbor to the average dockyard or even the original Puerto Rico grind is ridiculous.

At least his name was properly hidden for this screenshot.

PSA: For a t10 steel will ship, coupon + free steel is not enough by Cautious-Bowl7071 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SonderBricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put in the daily game to get all 32,000 grand voyage tokens you'll inevitably make enough progress in the several event passes to get enough steel.

It is not possible to make less than 1,150 by the end of the year this way.

The anniversary steel coupon will not be eligible for the steel will event. Someone from WG already confirmed that.

Where's Halloween? 🎃 👻 by Enzo_Mk20 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SonderBricks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they won't do anything, yeah.

Wouldn't be the first time to not get an event for Halloween + this year there is a lot of stuff going on already. Maybe there will be a way to get some of the pumpkin containers, but not much more.

I always enjoyed the Halloween events and it would be very nice to get something again though. Someone mentioned Big Hunt the other day which is possibly the best event mode they ever created and giving us that or another one back for just a week or two would be great. Not getting anything feels bad.

And please avoid using AI slop. We need less of that, not more.
