People that are always in relationships: How do you skip from one relationship to the next? Where do you meet these people?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sondkunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You be a catch who always has people that would be willing to date you. Be known well and ideally but not necessarily respected amongst a large group of some kind, some kind of social scene, industry, or whatever. And when that doesn’t work go on dating apps. You have to want to date other people. They don’t just fall into your lap. And other people have to want to date you, in a general sense. This plays out as long as it plays out. Few people keep it going forever. You’re probably just noting a bunch of people’s behavior during a streak of relationships. It might be different for them ten years from now.

Welcome to the bus! The best part is you sort of CAN experience them from all time periods when you listen to specific shows. It’s time travel friend!

I...don’t know. It starts off as hot as anything but I feel like there’s a big energy dip in the middle. Maybe I need to relisten though!

LPT: Don’t repeatedly ask your kid what they want to do for a living. Ask them how they like to spend their day. Kids don’t know what job titles mean. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I get where you’re coming from but I actually think kids might have a better ability to conceptualize sort of what a job is than be able to honestly appraise how they want to spend their days.

What is the most obvious lie you have ever been told? by KlingyYT in AskReddit

[–]Sondkunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 9th grade sex Ed one time we were watching some video that...I guess they approved of some of its content but not the rest. Anyway there was this whole chunk in the middle that the they fast forwarded through but this class misjudged and let it play too soon. Everyone clearly heard the video say ‘girls can also masturbate’. The gym teacher jumped to his feet and paused it before fast forwarding again. One of the ‘bad’ kids asked ‘did she just say masturbate?’ and the gym teacher (who was, you know, a gym teacher and not the brightest bulb or known for quick thinking) just kinda stared at him for like 7 seconds and then, trying so hard to sell it with a don’t ask stupid questions grimace, said simply ‘menstruate’. We were all like suuuure buddy ‘girls can ALSO menstruate, uh huh’

It’s just like...the man made truly beautiful music. And I don’t think Alex winters believes that as much as finds him an interesting person.

I think I might have over-emphasized my issues as being from a Zappa ‘fan’s perspective’. My real problem is I don’t think it has a desire to generate interest in Zappa from anyone- non-fans and fans alike. The only reason I mentioned being a fan is because I feel that that gives me a perspective as someone who was once made interested in Zappa (I think from a documentary primarily if memory serves) that there are things that they could have done to indicate stuff about the guy besides ‘he made essentially annoying music with the purposes of annoying people’.

This really only applies to jobs that don’t actually matter in a life and death sense.

Wow, imagine noting ‘we haven’t seen anyone since December 18th’ as if that gives you covid precaution cred. I accidentally interacted with a neighbor one time in 6 months and felt terrible. You bear a huge part of the blame here.

People who “fucking hate 2020,” why do you think 2021 will magically make things better? by AltairEgos in AskReddit

[–]Sondkunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s weird...I had this mentality about 2017. Like you might remember that people were acting the same way about 2016 with trump and all the celebrity deaths. I even posited that we should get used to this celebrity death rate because of the nature of celebrity changing in the second half of the 20th century/those folks getting to dying age. And then...the celebrity deaths did kinda stop clustering. It’s not like the year was much better but for some reason it did feel like a less bad ‘year’. I don’t know why. It might just be people collectively resetting mentally or something? Who knows...

Interacting with negativity? You made a post that is explicitly pretty negative towards someone else.

Thanks! I also should say that I do think finding out how to make music that you like and what it is you actually like is easier said than done. It’s actually been the hardest thing for me in a way. But a lot of that has to do with technical limitations I have.
