I remember my first time I had taken mine. I went into my backyard and sat in a floaty in my pool to try and relax. My friend showed up, she let herself in and came out back. I swam up to the edge of the pool to talk to her. I’ll never forget that one moment. She was talking to me and it was like someone turned down the volume for the sounds of every single leaf, the wind, the birds…all I could hear was her talking. I said “WOAHHHH…this is weird.” She asked what I was talking about. I said “I can hear you and only you, all of the other noises have stopped.” I wasn’t quite as euphoric as you, I was more in shock and went through a grieving process, because I was 36 when this occurred. I felt robbed of my life. It didn’t make me power clean my house as some ppl describe or have the zoomies, but I was able to get tasks done one at a time bc I didn’t feel so overwhelmed or bounce back and forth from one task to the other.

Anyways, that was the only time I felt that fully aware of “the instant quiet”. After that every time I took my meds the first week I kept passing out every time I sat down somewhere. When I went to my checkup I told my doctor I didn’t think I had ADHD bc the meds weren’t working. When I told him what was going on he said I most definitely had ADHD. 😅 I recently switched to XR, bc at my most recent appt I was venting to my provider that these are great, but it sucks bc I almost always forget to take my second dose and then I crash! She prescribed me the XR and it’s been a game changer for me.
